R
Cost is a little high but, for the right guitar, it's the only option

This is not a cheap guitar strap by any metric, it's expensive but very nicely finished. The leather seems to be very good quality (Vegans look away!) and the gold finish, which I was a little wary about, looks very fine.

This strap is for a Godin Summit Convertible, a guitar that pays homage to the LP Gold Tops from long ago while being a modern and very versatile guitar in its own right. It's a very close shade to the strap, so the images on Thomann's product page are very accurate. I wondered whether a gold strap for a gold guitar might be going a little too far for the looks, but it looks perfect on the guitar. The Godin Summit has a chambered body and is a moderately light guitar, and with this strap it feels as though the guitar isn't there at all. I have no doubt that with one of my Les Pauls, or my old 1980 Ibanez AR100 - a very heavy guitar, on there, it would still be extremely comfortable.

It's nice with this style of strap that there are no buckles or other hardware to mar the finish of the guitar, and the strap buttons went very securely through the strap, which seems to be just the right thickness for the strap buttons. I may eventually update the guitar with locking strap buttons but, for now, it's a secure arrangement.

In summary, knowing what I now know, I would quite happily buy this strap for this guitar. Not an inexpensive strap, but defintely the only show in town!
