K&K Big Twin review
Anónimo 27.01.2016
I got the K&K Big Twin piezo pick up to use it for an iranian setar, a small acoustic traditional instrument, which is not easy to sound with mics. As i started to play with it in a band context with electric instruments; i decided to give a try to this piezo. And the result is great so far, easy to install, crystal clear sound, work perfectly for what i want to. Im also trying to add effects with electric guitar pedals on it and works very nice. It would have been nice to have a volume control beside the jack plug, but it s ok is not a major problem. It is my first experience to use a piezo on an acoustic instrument; and find the sweet spot where to stick the piezos on the instrument was easier than i expected. Some minutes trying different positions before to stick it and it was ok. I did not had big troubles of larsens while playing high volumes ( i play on an acoustic guitar amp and works perfect, i also tried it on an electric guitar amp and i got some larsens but i could solve this playing with the amp EQ ). I have played on live situation and worked good. So, for the price i find it s really nice piezo and works well, clean sound. Thanks Thomann!

Surprisingly good for the price.

I am a professional double bass player and I have a wide range of top quality pickups and mics from Thomann. I was looking though for something that would give me a certain sound with a lot or growl. I saw someone using this one in a guitar so I decided to try it on my contrabas. To my surprise the sound result is marvellous. I am so happy with it that I use it now in every gig on my contrabas.

Good sound, but on the first one I recieved, the attachment broke. I recieved a free replacement from Thomann which arrived very speedily and had no issues with that one.

Great Pickup
Anónimo 07.02.2015
I was looking for a good solution for picking up an Iranian Dotar which is a 2 string long neck lute which has a lot of accompanying percussive sounds. I was suprised at how well this picks up the melodic and percussive sounds. The level it was picking up was a bit low on one of the thicker body instruments but if you have something to boost your signal you should be alright. Also tried it on an Oud and it wasn't as good at picking up the nylon strings.
