Cordas para Drop Tuning

Da qualidade da Ernie Ball não há muito a dizer, na minha opinião são de um modo geral as melhores cordas no mercado, tendo em conta a reputação da marca, o som, a durabilidade e por fim o preço.
Em relação ás Mammoth Slinky, são as cordas ideais para afinações graves, mais especificamente drop tunings.
A 6ª corda é de facto de uma medida muito superior á dos conjuntos standard, como tal mesmo indicada para drop B/drop A especialmente.
Atenção que convém fazer um setup ao instrumento para preparar o mesmo para a diferente tensão das cordas, especialmente as slots da pestana que têm de ser abertas para permitirem um uso correcto das medidas de corda superiores.
Recomendo.

As a deathcore enthusiast, I recently tried out the Ernie Ball 2214 Mammoth Slinky .012-.062 strings, and I am thrilled with the results. These strings are specifically designed for heavier genres and excel in drop C and lower tunings, making them a top choice for players who enjoy mid-2000s deathcore sounds.

The first thing I noticed about these strings was their excellent playability. The gauge is perfectly suited for the heavy riffing and intricate chugging that deathcore often demands. The tension feels just right, providing a balanced response between tightness and ease of bending. Whether you're shredding through blistering breakdowns or executing lightning-fast tremolo picking, these strings respond beautifully.

Check the nut before buying!

Overall, this set is perfect for low tunings. I used it on my brand new LTD H3-1000 See Thru Purple and found out that the strings did their job perfectly on drop B tuning. It's a bit too big for drop B imo, the strings feel too tight but they do the job perfectly.

But after a few weeks, little by little I started feeling like something was off. After investigating the issue, I realized that the first two low strings (.62 and .44) were too big for the nut and they were standing higher on the fretboard than they should which made it almost impossible to get a proper/stable note when pressing the strings down.

Check your nut before you buy the set and see if they will fit perfectly. They stay in tune but the tension you need to apply on strings might result in shifts in the notes.

Really great strings for drop tuning

I’ve been using these strings on my Ltd Viper with a 24.75 inch scale length and I’m in love with them. They are great for drop B, drop A#, B Standard and drop A. You could use them for drop C on a 24.75 inch scale but I personally don’t recommend it as the tension is a bit high I’d recommend 12-56 for that.
