Cheaper alternative, but with some flaws

lacks the RIMS felt, between fixing plate on owners own drum mount, which I needed, because the drilled holes did not line up with my Premier fitting. On a 4 lug 8 inch tom, this was so difficult to fit as the circumference isn't quite right. Standard vintage Premier Royale 8 inch tom. The rubber insulators are a little dense, so, with tight fit and that, I feel the drum is being choked a little. These mounts should be very freely fitted, not forced to fit. I have tried 10 inch version on a vintage Premier Genista and it was a similar bind to fit. The right angled shaped plate is also a little dense, ears welded to a flat pre-bent steel as on RIMS are far better. I suppose price was the biggest influence on my purchase, might not have been the wisest decision I've made.
