Great inexpensive upgrade for small amps!
I have a Marshall MG15R with reverb for practice but it always lacked a bit 'ooomph'. I saw this speaker (8", 15W) and have had Celestions in previous Marshall amps and loved the tightness.
Guitars used: Fender Std Strat, Telecaster, Epi LP and Fender Jaguar.
Styles: Blues, Rock, funk-rock, Heavy metal and even a bit of Jazz sometimes (just about anything!)
And that is what it does, it makes the Amp sound tighter and better pronounced... The lows are deeper and higher notes have more detail. Overdriven it produces a nice roar, that is just a little bit more like a higher end Marshall.. It makes a small amp sound a bit more mature.
Installing it takes less than 15 mins and it's the best upgrade that this kind of money will buy! For the MG15R it was a direct replacement (I didn't have to pre-drill any holes for screw routing
So, bottom line is - If you have a 15W amp with an 8" speaker that sounds a bit tired? - I can really recommend this!

Very nice speaker
The Celestion Eight has a slight difference in tone when compareing to the predecessor, 'Super 8'. Only a slight though and that is up to taste...
There's not many 8" speakers to choose from but that is just fine: you won't miss with a celestion anyway ;)
It does have a nice "british" tone to it and makes a perfect speaker for recording purposes. I have one at my homestudio and find it sounding even better to my taste with a small dynamic microphone than a "real 12-incher" would - that's because I like large-diagraph microphones. Remember, the scale matters... The basic 57 "seems" like it had a bigger diagraph when faceing a smaller speaker rather than a big one.
Yes, I would recommend this speaker.

Great sound at this price.
I put this in my Fender Champ clone and the difference was huge. The amp is all-valve and deserved better than the crappy stock speaker which was farty and ugly-sounding, especially at high-ish volumes where you look for a bit of sweet crunch.
This speaker sounds much more musical at low and high volumes. And at this price, I think it's great value.

For the price you pay you get a pretty decent sound.

great replacement speaker for 8" home amps
I've put this speaker into my Blackstar HT-1 home combo amp, the difference with the stock speaker is obvious - small home practice amp now sounds 'bigger' with more detailed cleans and dence overdriven sounds. Absolutely worth replacement!

My secret trick in the studio
I build my own cabinet from som leftover material, and put this in it. Using amps with outputs to external speakers, I often use this speaker in my studio. I find 12 inch speakers more boomy, but this sounds perfect. I use less EQ and tweaking when mixing.
