Here's an idea for something you can do with Katowice:
Take two waveforms out from your oscillator, perhaps a SAW into Left and a SQUARE into the Right input. Next take the Low Left output and the Mid Right output and sum them together in a mixer. Voila, you've basically spliced together the frequency spectrum of a saw and a square at the frequency point of your liking. Maybe use a slightly detuned oscillator for the second input while modulating the mid cutoff and you'll start getting all kinds of weird spectral effects.

And this is just one of many non-obvious but super interesting patches you can do with Katowice. This is a module that rewards creative patching!

I don't have anything bad to say about this module, except that I would have preferred a larger module with attenuators for the frequency and width cv inputs.

End of Chain Filter EQ

Auf Filter Suche bin ich auf den Katowice gestoßen und bin begeistert. Er ist mein viertes XAOC Modul und wird sicher nicht das letzte sein. Die Optik des Moduls ist schick, die Qualität der Regler und Buchsen ist sehr hoch.

Vor allem aber Sound und Funktionsumfang überzeugen mich immer wieder bei XAOC. Ich benutze den Katowice mit einzelnen Stimmen oder auch End of Chain auf ganzen Mixes oder Subgruppen. Der Effekt ist genial! Bass und Höhen komplett rausdrehen und mit den Mitten Reglern spielen, die Bänder mit LFOs (bis in den Audiobereich) oder Envelopes in der Lautstärke verändern oder auch einzelne Bänder abgreifen und durch weitere Module schicken. Die Möglichkeiten sind enorm und immer musikalisch.

Wer sich nicht sicher ist welchen Filter er braucht sollte sich vielleicht mal den Katowice anschauen. Zwar fehlt ihm die Fähigkeit zur Selbstresonanz, das bieten aber fast alle anderen Filter die man ggf. schon im Rack hat.

Habe ich erwähnt, dass der Katowice true stereo ist und vier (!) gleichzeitig (!) abgreifbare Output Paare besitzt?
