The one reverb, just magic

Strymon products are extraordinary and this reverb is just outstanding. The V2 improves an already almost perfect pedal that takes lot of sounds from the BigSky into a smaller / simpler format that can be use in a FX loop for example. The sonic and build quality are really top notch and it adds the magical Strymon touch to the dry sound of the guitar that is far beyond rational... just magic

Tolle Qualität zu stolzem Preis

Auch wenn wir uns im oberen Preis Segment bewegen stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Ich bin noch am forschen. Aber es sind schon auch ein paar sehr ungewöhnliche Effekte, die man dem Gerät entlocken kann. Ich bin zwar kein Super Gitarrist, habe als beruflicher Nerd aber Spass daran künstlich den Klang meiner Gitarren zu verändern. Einstellungen sind mit ein bisschen Übung meisterbar. Von der Fernsteuerung über PC bin ich noch ein wenig entfernt. Freu mich aber schon da reinzuarbeiten.

Für realistischen High-End Hall - eher nein

Ich war sehr gespannt wie sich der "Super-Hall" auf meinem Board tut, zumal ich schon seit der Damage-Control Zeiten von Strymon dabei bin. Meine Erwartung einen echten Studio-Hall (Plate, Raum, Spring) für den Gitarrenamp zu bekommen hat sich leider nicht erfüllt. Die 3 Haupt-Kritikpunkte: 1.) der Hall ist viel zu dicht, bricht im "Abgang" immer in einer tieffrequenten Fahne zusammen, das konnte ich weder mit Mix, mit mehr Höhen, weniger Bässe in den Griff bekommen - vielleicht baut Strymon hier mal einen Density - Regler dazu. 2.) die AD/DA Wandler klingen zu steril und verfärben den Klang deutlich wahrnehmbar in Richtung "Loudness". Das mag für dem Humbucker Spieler vielleicht gefallen, bei Single-Coils ist es viel zu viel. 3.) die Hallfahne kommt auch ohne Pre-Delay immer dem Signal "hinterher". Das Instrument steht also nicht "im Raum" - sondern spielt "in den Raum hinein" (kann es nicht besser beschreiben :-))
Summary: als Effektgerät mit Shimmer, etc.. erste Wahl, normalen Hall für Saiteninstrumente kann sogar der Cloudburst besser und klangneutraler. Auch ein Neunaber Wet liegt hier vorn. Von einem High-End Studio Hall sind aber auch diese Geräte etwas entfernt. Fazit: Leider geht das Gerät zurück.
