The classic in its original form: many experts are of the opinion that a single cut guitar should come with nothing but a PAF-type humbucker. And for those guitarists who still want their guitar to have a vintage look alongside a vintage sound, the SH1 with chrome cover - as it is known from single cut and double cut standards - is the ideal companion.

The Seymour Duncan SH1 is one of the most popular replacement pickups ever and way ahead of the rest when it comes to reproducing the legendary, balanced sound of the legendary PAF humbuckers of Seth Lover. (The pickups get their name from the "patent applied for" sticker on their underside.) For many guitarists this pickup is still the best: it is not a screamer - is much too classy for that - â€‹â€‹but it can sing like no other pickup. The most selective of musical enthusiasts would award the SH1 a touch more authenticity than many competitors, but only an AB comparison (very complex with pickups) could bring any clarification, and even then certain judgments remain a simple matter of taste. In any case, this is a hot favourite!

The SH 1 B59 is particularly suitable for the bridge position, especially if you want to hear the guitar tone as much as possible (as we mentioned before, it sings, even with moderate distortion). It is therefore ideally suited for use in single cut types - these in particular bring enough power and sustain to the table; a too hefty pickup could even do harm!

HUMBUCKER STUPENDO!!!

Conosco ed uso questo modello di humbucker dal 1992....credo sia tra i migliori in assoluto....perfetto per suonare ogni genere....sia in clean sia in distorsione la sua resa è sempre di alta qualità.
Il prezzo ne vale la spesa.....lo consiglio

Seymour Duncan SH1B als Austauschpickup in einer Epiphone Les Paul

Ich habe mir vor kurzem eine Epiphone Les Paul Standard gekauft und hatte von vornherein vor, die PU gegen Seymour Duncans auszutauschen, da ich auf diese Weise schon bei anderen preiswerten Gitarren (z.B. Squier Strat) enorme Klangverbesserungen erzielt habe.

Den SH1N + SH1B habe ich ausgewählt, weil diese den authentischen P.A.F. Sound liefern sollen.
Um später vergleichen zu können, habe ich vor dem Umbau ein paar Soundproben (clean) aufgenommen. Die Seymour Duncans klingen klarer und sind auch etwas lauter. Sie haben mehr Brillianz und bringen die Anschlagdynamik besser rüber. Insgesamt war ich jedoch überrascht, wie ähnlich die Seymour Duncans im Vergleich zu den Epiphones klingen.

Fazit: Entgegen meiner Erwartung sind die Epiphones keine Schwachstelle. Sie liefern bereits den fetten, warmen und singenden Ton, für den die Les Paul berühmt ist. Die Seymor Duncans sind aus meiner Sicht noch ein Quentchen besser und für Leute, die genau hinhören sicher auch ihr Geld wert.

Je ne vais pas vous le cacher, sauf si ils sont "aged", je n'ai jamais bien compris l’intérêt de mettre une moitié de salaire dans un micro "boutique" quand l'ami Seymour nous offre les meilleures tonalités à des prix bien plus raisonnables ... Mais si le Klon nous a bien appris quelque chose, c'est que la hype mène la danse et les prix dans le secteur de la guitare.

Selon moi, rien de tel que de choisir ce bon vieux Seymoun pour obtenir les meilleurs sons. Après tout, même si il n'est plus tout seul dans son garage, il est bien celui qui a été derrière les micros de tous les plus grands ! Il doit donc avoir vu de près les entrailles et les aimants derrière tout ces sons de légendes, et avec ce micro je comprends pourquoi il est si prisé des plus grands.

Pour un prix vraiment raisonnable, ce micro vous offrira les sonorités mythiques du PAF.
Pour avoir eu la chance de pouvoir tester une Les Paul au prix d'une voiture dans l'autre célèbre magasin de musique allemand, je dois avouer que les sonorités sont comparables ...

Ce qui fait LE PAF c'est bien sûr son son caractéristique, cette rondeur, cette douceur et cette capacité à faire chanter la guitare. Mais c'est aussi son feeling, car si le son est parfois comparable, parfois le feeling peut-être bien différent !

Et avec ce micro, c'est évidemment un home run, tout y est, il est incroyablement polyvalent je peux jouer du rockabilly, du blues, jusqu'à Van Halen ... Avec cette capacité à garder une certaine clarté même avec beaucoup de distorsion et à la garder aussi quand le bouton de volume est abaissé pour obtenir des cleans divins.

Bref, c'est évident, ce micro fera un très bon upgrade dans votre setup si vous cherchez ce "son" chaud typique des PAF ! C'est un sans faute pour moi.
