I chose the mid-depth round body after consulting pretty much all info available regarding this. I wanted to use a guitar for acoustic playing and also through amp. I didn't have the chance of testing any, but as far as I understood, the 48 series - super shallow body, is for electric (mainly).

Color's great, good looking, nice inlays and overall finish.
Easy to play. Find no issue with slippery back since it has a different finish (more adherent) where you rest it on your leg.
I lowered the action (it was a little high for my preference and experience) by simply removing plastic pieces under the saddle. It is a little heavier, though.
Has a totally different sound than I was used to (100-200 eur price range). It has a richer sound and I feel the need of playing with thicker picks than usual.

Had the opportunity of playing over a camp fire and it really felt great.
Totally recommend it.
P.S.:
I believe above comments and specs are the same for the entire CE44 range, only difference being the color coding.

Nice guitar with great sound

The guitar has really nice look,for those who like modern-traditional style.Regarding the sound of the guitar it was quite surprising,really loud and more metaly sound.There are some
minor details which I don't like,on the back of the headstock says crafted in china with big black letters and where are sound holes you can see some glue left. Everything else is in order.

CE44... Un grand cru !

J'ai eu toute la gamme en Ovation jusqu'à Adamas en passant par Élite US, bêtement je ne les ai pas gardées et j'ai voulu y revenir en douceur au niveau prix, j'ai acheté la CE44 après avoir acheté aussi la 48. Les deux sont top ! Préférence à cette CE44 qui a de belles basses profondes. Le son est puissant, j'ai essayé la 1778t de la gamme pro, elle est moins puissante et j'ai préféré la CE44. Très belle finition façon adamas avec binding noir autour de la caisse et pas de binding au manche, elle est hyper belle ainsi, sobre mais élégante, allure plus haut de gamme qu'avec les bindings en plastique blanc. J'ai acheté aussi la CE44C table en cèdre massif et cordes nylon c'est une merveille mais les bindings blancs sont kitchs, dommage elle aurait été au top telle que sa soeur à cordes acier. Super guitares, excellent manche...
