A big sounding recorder, beautifully made

This is not a standard recorder, several cm longer, hence the keys and wider, with a near cylindrical bore like a renaissance instrument. This is the Moeck take on the modern harmonic recorder, comparable with the Mollenhauer modern range. The boxwood version in light in the hand despite the high quality key work. The sound is more recorder-like than the flute like quality of some modern instruments, with really strong low notes and easy higher notes. It's taken a while to play in, partly due to the difference in breath pressures and different fingerings above g'''. The volume allows performance alongside modern instruments and the sound quality is intriguing. Am enjoying the new possibilities of the instrument in tackling transcriptions outside the normal repertoire.

Eine Altblockflöte der Sonderklasse

Als Musiklehrer für Flöte und Blockflöte war ich schon lange auf der Suche nach einer Altblockflöte, die (zwar bei 440Hz) in Klang und Lautstärke in ein gemischtes Ensemble passt und nicht nur mithalten, sondern sich sogar angenehm auffallend durchsetzen kann; zart aber nie dünn bis leicht spitz in den Höhen und rund bis kräftig und fast etwas röhrend in der Tiefe, je nach Anblasdruck.

Mit diesem hervorragend sauber verarbeiteten und (gemäß Stimmgerät) perfekt intonierendem Instrument ist dem Instrumentenbauer hier auch optisch ein wahres Meisterstück gelungen.

Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich nicht der einzige bin, der richtig begeistert ist und kann dieses Instrument als Geheimtipp sehr empfehlen.

Flûte à bec alto

Bonne flûte mais la 3° octave ne correspond pas à la tablature
fournie : au dessus du SOL 3, les sons sortent avec du souffle.
Alors que la tablature indique qu'il est possible de monter jusqu'au DO 4
