Avevo qualche dubbio prima dell'acquisto

Ero indeciso tra l'Electribe ed il Circuit della Novation. Di quest'ultimo però non mi piaceva la casualità dell'assegnazione delle funzioni ai diversi Knob, oltre che ho una certa fiducia in Korg. Avevo pauta fosse valido solo per musica techno ma avevo bisogno in primis di una drum machine e poi di una seconda fonte di generazione sonora da affiancare al Korg Minilogue. Ebbene sono rimasto totalmente soddisfatto. La macchina è solida ed anche molto piacevole di aspetto (soprattutto la Blue). Eccezionale la facilita di utilizzo e di creazione dei pattern così come le funzione di edit dei suoni. La qualità sonora è quella che ci si può attendere, valida, con una ampia gamma di oscillatori e di campionamenti di suoni percussivi e batteria. Validissimo prodotto, essenziale ormai nelle mie composizioni ambient.

Maybe the best music scratchpad out there

I got this little baby to see if I could get away from the computer screen for a while. And boy, it does deliver!

It takes some time getting used to, which might also require some googling around. But once you get around that, it is a wonderful way of shaping ideas on a simple interface without distractions and endless choices. Sound is a little limited, but that's not the point here. Should you need to give a better "body" to your idea, use MIDI to drive external instruments (virtual or actual) and keep it as a sequencer.

Some silly missing details do exist, such as the lack of 'backspace' key when you rename a pattern. It was removed in a firmware upgrade and never made its way back. But these won't get in your way of being creative, just annoy you in rare occasions.
I do consider Korg's total disregard in correcting these details bad behavior though, which is why the 3 stars in features.

One last word of advice, pay really close attention on whether you need the synth or the sampler version.

Besides that, I would totally recommend this again and again and again!

Fun and Easy

I love the intuitive simplicity of the Electribe 2. I can do pretty much anything on it from electronic grooves to accompanying tracks for my electric guitar.
I wish the keypad was better and that there was a full midi implementation. Also the micro editing is a little convoluted for me.
Other than that it is super fun and the synth engine sound is very good.

Excellent Synth

If you are familiar with the EMX-1 workflow than this will be the sweet spot between familiarity and novelty. There are new sounds and fx here but the old sounds of the EMX - 1 are still doable on this!
