Preamp eccellente!

Da tempo volevo comprare un pedale JHS perché reputo Josh una brava persona e adoro il suo canale YouTube, tuttavia ho sempre trovato i suoi prodotti poco bass-friendly. Stavo per desistere da questo mio desiderio quando ho visto questo preamp/DI. Si tratta di una riedizione moderna del Boss FA1: i tre punti di equalizzazione sono molto musicali e sfruttabili, bassi e alti sono shelving (rispettivamente 250 Hz e 10k Hz), ottimi per dare corpo e aria allo strumento, i medi sono centrati a 1,3k Hz e sono peak. Si può escludere l'equalizzazione parzialmente o totalmente dal circuito e usarlo come boost.
Ha volume da vendere e molte regolazioni disponibili, anche un minimo scostamento della manopola causa una modifica significativa del suono. Rispetto al MXR M81 (suo potenziale concorrente e unico preamp/DI di dimensioni compatte) il JHS è più intuitivo e meno "sterile", ma anche meno versatile. A livello di fabbricazione invece lascia un pochino a desiderare: le manopole dell'equalizzazione non hanno il fermo centrale per il flat e gli indicatori rossi non sono molto visibili. Al netto di questi difetti, se cercate un preamp semplice da usare e ben suonante non posso che raccomandarlo! Finalmente un prodotto JHS sfruttabile anche su basso!

Awesome booster

With this thing I can make a high gain monster from my Orange OR50 or OCD overdrive. A lot of output power and flexible EQ (and very useful low cut switch). Maybe if you know what boosting profile do you need you can find a cheaper option but if you don't - this thing is a great choice. I am enjoying it a lot.

A quite responsive pedal. At first i did put it in front of the chain..right after the compressor..before overdrive and the rest.,,,however..when i turned the knobs up, after 12... I heard a crackling sound...very irritating...i did not know where it came from.....started to experiment in where to place it...i now have it at the end of the chain..right before it enters the amp....the results are a lot better that way. For now i decided to keep it. It's not a cheap pedal for what it does imo...i guess that's because it's hand made in the US. But I am happy now with the sound, It def enhances the overall atmosphere the guitar generates...
