Super upgrade

Acquistati per sostituire i pickup di una Squier Jazzmaster Classic Vibe.
I pickup stock non erano male, ma davano poco carattere alla chitarra: della Jazzmaster c'era solo la forma.
Sostituiti con questi, è tutta un'altra storia: ora il pickup al ponte è davvero squillante con grande enfasi sugli alti; il pickup al manico pompa per bene i bassi e il mix dei due dà un tono sublime.
Pickup consigliati per avere davvero una Jazzmaster tra le mani.
Non per niente sono montati nelle Fender American Original '60s da migliaia di euro.

Premessa: trovo che i pickup di serie dello Squier Jazzmaster Classic Vibe abbiano un gran bel suono.
Per cui ho preferito acquistare, oltre ai Pure Vintage '65, anche un altro Jazzmaster sul quale sostituirli, rovinandomi finanziariamente..

Ma sono felice di essermi rovinato perché ora ho DUE ottime Jazzmaster con due caratteri ben distinti!

I Pure Vintage'65 suonano più puliti, brillanti ed eleganti, ma mi regalano dei crunch caldissimi e nelle distorsioni più spinte mordono che è una meraviglia!

Il manico è semplicemente meraviglioso, con certe equalizzazioni sembra di sentire le campane in sottofondo..

Il ponte è molto brillante, molto vintage e per questo mi piace.

È sul ponte che sento la differenza più netta nei confronti dell'originale: lo Squier è più sporco, gonfio e blues, il Pure Vintage è più elegante, sottile e surf.

In posizione centrale il suono dei Pure Vintage può ricordare un po' il suono Telecaster.

Concludendo, i Pure Vintage hanno dato al mio Jazzmaster Squier CV molto in termini di qualità sonora, sono pickup "professionali" e si sente!

Fender Pure Vintage Jazzmaster PU Set - Good upgrade

I got myself a Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster as the price was right, but after having played it for a while I was only partly satisfied with the Seymour Duncan Designed stock pick-ups. I was looking for the sound I remembered way back when I was very young and decided to try the Fender Pure Vintage Jazzmaster set as the reviews on the internet and Thomann's customers were overall very positive.
When I started the conversion it took some close looking at the diagram in the box to figure out which was the neck and bridge pickup. A small label on each pick-up would have helped a lot. In any case the replacement of the pick-ups went without a problem, just a little bit of work as all strings have to come off in order to remove the pick guard and solder the leads onto the appropriate points.
Once I plugged in the guitar with the new pick-ups I was pleased by the sound. If my memory serves me well, this was the sound I remembered from way back in the late sixties.
My Squier is now a Jazzmaster, not a Stratocaster nor Telecaster. I am happy with these pick-ups and have no regrets concerning the upgrade.

of these Fender Pure Vintage Jazzmaster PU's is excellent. Much better than the Roswells on the Harley Benton HB JA-60 OW i replaced them with. The Roswells were a bit dull sounding after a while and the Fenders give it the Jazzmaster chime. A great buy. Installing them on this guitar is very easy. Just look where the old PU's are connected and put the Fender's in place. Put some foam tape under PU's for adjusting the height. the measurements are the same. The guitar is now very much to my liking. I did sand down the fat neck a bit to make it slimmer and now with the new PU's it became a really good sounding and playing guitar. Totally worth the upgrade! Love it!
