Well there's no doubt this is a good looking bass, the Sierra Sunburst is stunning and the whole feel of the bass oozes quality. The maple fretboard feels so easy and the chunky feel to the neck suits me perfectly. I changed the strings to a set of flatwounds but that's just my personal choice.
This bass is a dream to play and so comfortable,
The PJ pickup arrangement makes it very versatile too making it able to play a wide range of usable sounds making it ideal for anyone wanting to play a variety of different styles. My preference was the mid position using both pups as it had a lovely mellow tone which sounded good soloing. I compared the sound to my precision which has a Kent Armstrong pup on it. Although I think I personally prefer the sound from the Kent Armstrong there is no doubt the Mustang still offers a lot and I found that I keep wanting to pick it up as it's such a joy to play.

Great bass for good money

I've bought this bass after playing a thunderbird for some time. Now it may be going from one extreme to another, but this bass saved my hands - I've been having cramping issues with playing a long neck and since I play pretty aggressively - it gets tough during a longer gig. With this bass I get a solid and wide range of sounds with the PJ pickups, a very comfy neck and the overall look of the bass is gorgeous. The only gripe I have with this bass is that the fret edges are a bit sharp and could be rolled off for an even better feel. Overall - a great instrument for both beginners and intermediate players!

I love the looks and love the contemporary pickup P/J setup - and it looks as well.
Love the universal sound with glass treble and fat lows - you can cut some of frequencies and get the sound you want.
Roll down TONE to get perfect sound to accompany.
Roll TONE up - have a solo!
Very playable while seating, very playable while standing.

Drawbacks :
- intonation - it took me three guitars to pick a one that had the right pitch on every fret

Summary - versatility, playability, sound, but have few pieces in your hands to pick the one.
