Attenzione! per Stan Alone

Ho acquistato questo prodotto leggendo la descrizione del sito e non il manuale ufficiale dello strumento (fesso io).
La macchina usata con usb probabilmente funziona come descritto, ma se usata come stand alone le cose cambiano e non di poco e ora vi spiego come:
In modalità Stand Alone la macchina ha solo 3 funzioni:
1) Pass through
i canali sono IN e Out, assegnati a coppie per esempio port 1 IN port 3 out, port 2 IN port 3 OUT ecc..
2) Midi thru
un solo IN (port 1) 15 OUT (port da 2 a 16)
3) Midi merge
15 IN (port dalla 1 alla 15) e un solo OUT (port 16).

Queste 3 modalità non sono modificabili in alcun modo.

Se pensate come me di usare questa macchina senza usare il pc sappiate che lavora solo ed esclusivamente in queste 3 modalità, non è possibile in alcun modo avere per esempio 5 IN e 11 Out.
Quando leggete che potete assegnare ogni porta a piacimento come IN o come Out stanno parlando esclusivamente di un uso tramite PC o Mac e io non l'ho provato.
Chiarito questo piccolo ma importante dettaglio ci tengo ad informarVi che mi sono appena messo in contatto con i produttori perchè come Midi thru (mod 2 stand alone) la macchina trasmette numerosi errori (note mancanti o note infinite).
Esteticamente fa la sua figura, tutti i led funzionano perfettamente.
Aggiornerò questa recensione non appena verrò contattato da ESI.

Ottima scheda midi, compatta, intuitiva e adatta ad ogni situazione, dal lavoro in studio ai live.
L'unica pecca è la dotazione di "alette" da rack che devono essere applicate tramite adesivo non essendo integrate.

Great thing for a very good price

I own few synths and drum machines, most of them communicate via good old midi DIN (some have humming ground loops while used via midi USB, and some don't have USB at all). The unit is easy to plug and play with Ableton, and USB hub is very handy as well.
Not a whole 5 star because of the not very useful rack ears improvisation that comes with the unit. It's an external pair of ears, fits well on the sides of the unit but meant to be hold in place using double side stickers (supplied in the box). Will simply not hold... I've used some duct tape to attach to unit, and it's in the non visible side of rack so I'll live with that.

Solid MIDI Interface

I'm using it for a few hardware synths that are connected to PC / DAW (through the USB). It's a solid product, and it handles MIDI tasks very well. After a few weeks of use, I had only a few issues when it didn't recognise MIDI IN correctly, and it was overloading Behringer Odyssey: when it was off, all sequencer lights were lightened up. The solution was to turn it on and off and on again. I did some tweaks in the Cubase MIDI setup (my main DAW), and it looks like it's recognizing it correctly so far. So maybe it was a user error.
I'm using additional USB ports for Cubase Dongle (no problems here). iLok was complaining about license issues, so I had to put it dongle back to a USB port on a PC.
Rackmount is not perfect, but it's ok so far.
I can highly recommend it for anyone who needs several MIDI In/Outs
