Maybe the best EMG yet

I wanted something to go into a single pickup guitar and I wanted it to be active. As it would have to do more than just rhythm it had to have some versatility in it which ruled out the 81 as that is not great for cleans.

This pick up has some similarities to the 81 but is not as laser focussed and a bit more relaxed in that regards. It was just what
I wanted, a nice clean. Works really well across various gain levels. It sounds thick and has a great presence under high gain, doesn’t get muddy. It has that EMG character but does not come across as sterile.

If you want something different from EMG this is it.

Possibly the best active pickup on the market.

If the 81 is too shrill for you the 57 is perfect. It is a beast than can do high gain in spades but has great cleans as well. This can do any style you throw at it.

Ich habe den PU in eine Jackson SL1 eingebaut. Vorher war hier ein 81er drin und ich wollte etwas mehr Dynamik und Flexibilität. Das hat mit dem 57er auch geklappt. Ich hatte allerdings nicht soviel Druck vom 57er erwartet — da ist zum 81er nicht viel Unterschied.
Die Verarbeitung ist bei EMG wie immer tadellos. Die Lieferung seitens Thomann wie immer vorbildlich

Als Tausch -PU für Duncan Blackout erworben verrichtet er seinen Dienst in meiner Live-V... Für mich klingt er runder und natürlicher , nicht ganz so klinisch ,aber nicht weniger brutal ! Einbau war easy (sagt mein Techniker... :-) )
