DiMarzio DP 424BK Area T 615

È stupendo!!!!
Era da tanto tempo che cercavo un suono Telecaster al ponte che avesse la brillantezza classica (stile Keith Richards per intenderci) ma con più potenza senza mai esagerare.....
È silenziosissimo!!
È molto meglio del modello Area T Bridge DP418
È estremamente dinamico (con la manopola del volume a 3 ottienii un suono incantevole, quasi pulito, anche con una testata Marshall JVM!!!!!
Non si impasta MAI con i pedali fuzz/overdrive e neanche con amplificatori high gain rispettando fedelmente il classico twang della Tele al ponte sia sul pulito che sul distorto!!
Ho anche notato un sostanziale aumento del sustain rispetto ai pickup Fender.
Non è indicato per suonare tutti i giorni metal tipo Metallica, ma comunque tira fuori un distorto poderoso e assolutamente rispettabile che potrebbe essere utilizzato per ottenere una sonorità tipo Ritchie Kotzen.
Non lo cambierei per nessuna cosa al mondo!

This pickup has replaced faulty Fender N3 bridge pickup in my custom built Fender Telecaster. As this is my primary guitar I could not afford to loose it for a couple weeks waiting for N3 to be repaired. In the meantime I've also bought a pre-wired set of DiMarzio Area 58 and 61 for my Stratocaster and I was literally stunned by its sound. So I thought that I'll get DiMarzio DP 424BK Area T 615 as a backup pickup for my Tele until the N3 comeback from repair. But, my God! The DiMarzio DP 424BK Area T 615 is staying!!! Don't get me wrong N3s are very good pickups but DP 424BK is an entire class higher. In compare to DP 424BK the N3 sounds a bit flat. The DP 424BK sound is much more complex, it still have the classic Tele ZING sound but also a bit more low and mid tones in compare to N3. It also have more sustain than N3 with very similar output signal level. This makes my Tele sound very sharp and precise but also a lot more interesting and richer. The middle switch position when DP 424BK is working with neck N3 is blowing my mind. I got it paired with Fender 250K volume and 500K pots which makes my guitar very versatile as it can be used from rock in bridge position to jazz on the neck pickup. DiMarzio DP 424BK Area T 615 is top quality product for professional musicians, excellent for gigging and even better at studio due to its complex sound. To me for 60 quid it represents top value for money. Highly recommended.

615 ist die Ortsvorwahl für Nashville/Tennessee, und das soll schon andeuten, in welche Richtung es klanglich geht. Ich habe den Pickup in eine Tele mit Eschenkorpus und einem one-piece roasted maple Hals eingebaut. Weitere Tonabnehmer in der Gitarre: Area 58 in der Mitte und Area 67 am Hals. Ergebnis:

Country - check
Country rock - check
Blues - check
härtere Sachen - gehen auch, aber ggf. den Tonregler etwas zurücknehmen.

Insgesamt scheint mir der 615 der Areapickup mit dem traditionellsten Klang zu sein. Allerdings habe ich den Area T (den ich in einer anderen Gitarre verwende) und den Area 615T nicht in der gleichen Gitarre verglichen. Der Area Hot T ist definitiv wärmer und geht eher Richtung Broadcaster/Nocaster, was der 615T auf jeden Fall nicht macht. Twang ist da, Biss ist da, aber nicht im Übermaß. Ich mag ihn sehr. In Kombination mit dem 58 in der Mitte bringt er einen schönen Strat-Zwischenpositionssound, und mit dem 67 am Hals bringt er sehr schöne Telesounds. Klare Kaufempfehlung.
