Excellent quality

This practice mute is excellent for practicing at home. It takes some getting used to it, because it requires more effort to blow, but this is an added bonus for me. Would recommend.

Playing with this practice Mute

The volume reduction is very good with this mute, which is what I was looking for (my family and neighbors thought this was very good too). It also is a great help in highlighting intonation deficiencies. However, there is a huge amount of resistance when playing - too much. The mute changes the whole way your horn plays - with the mute in I can get high notes that I wouldn't usually be able to get and after about a week or so of playing with this mute in I find it hard to play without it.

It does the job

I wanted to do my practice with the trombone quietly, and after comprehensive research, I found this mute. It's been a while since I bought it and I can fairly say that It does the job and its light weight gives it another advantage.

Mit dem DW5527 erreicht man eine sehr effektive Reduzierung der Lautstärke, so dass es auch spät abends noch möglich ist, in der Wohnung zu üben. Ich verwende den Dämpfer mit dem Thomann Marching Baritone (das eigentlich ein Flugabone ist, bezüglich Stimmumfang, Klang und Ansatz einer Tenorposaune sehr ähnlich).
Es lässt sich sehr gut damit üben, wenn auch, naturgemäß, mit Einschränkungen: Der Widerstand ist sehr viel höher als ohne Dämpfer, man muss deutlich mehr Kraft aufwenden. Im mittleren Tonbereich sprechen die Töne gut an (mit etwas mehr Druck beim Anblasen) und die Intonation ist auch zufriedenstellend. Im tiefen Bereich ist etwas Gewöhnung nötig, dann klingen aber auch die Tiefen gut. Nach oben wird die Intonation zu tief und der Widerstand wird sehr hoch, das kann aber als Krafttraining gelten.
Mit diesem Dämpfer bin ich sehr zufrieden, er eignet sich hervorragend zum Üben, ein grosser Teil der Literatur kann ohne zu grosse Einschränkungen gespielt werden, und das ohne Angst, die Mitbewohner zu belästigen.
Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert.
