Denis Wick 5880E Euphonium SM3U

Questo bocchino per euphonio ha in generale un bel suono in tutti i registri.
Nei registri più gravi risulta un poco pesante nell'emissione.
Nel registro acuto data la sua grandezza richiede qualche sforzo in più nel controllo del suono.
Confrontandolo con il DW0AL Heritage che uso con il trombone basso, il suono risulta meno pieno, cupo e caldo, ma più brillante e meno impegnativo negli acuti. In confronto con il DW5AL (classico) è il suono è più ampio ricco di armonici.
Aggiungo che personalmente mi trovo bene con il bordo (rim) più stretto.

This mouthpiece was designed for modern, open wrap Euphoniums. In my new Euphonium (with a floating leadpipe) it is precise and has a beautiful tone quality, singing in the top register with clarity, but also a powerful, full, bottom register.
I would like more mass aroung the throat.
The rim profile works well for me. I found previous DW Euphonium mouthpieces did not work well for my embouchure (rim too wide and flat).
I would like a sharper bite to the inner profile of the rim.
I have played this mouthpiece on a number of different Euphoniums and they all suffer from consistantly sharp intonation problems where I would not expect themtop occur! Given the deep, more 'C' shaped cup, I feel the entrance to the throat and the throat itself requires more attention to reduce intonation problems. When I play on a mouthpiece c. 26mm, the intonation problems reduce significantly, or disappear (smaller throat).
Quality and finish are excellent. One big plus point is that the end of the backbore is tapered, helping air to exit the mouthpiece as smoothly as possible. Lack of a mouthpiece pouch at this price is lamentable!
