Deering Goodtime Americana

Very well made banjo, great hardware and woodwork. Super easy to play. Has really nice overtones and a bit of growl. I bought it to replace my cheap HArley Benton 5-string. When I received it the head seemed way too tight and the outside bridge legs were not making firm contact with the head. I just loosened the head tension and it resolved this problem and alsomade the tone better. All in all I am very happy with this purchase and it should serve well me for years or until I can spend over a thousand Euros for a new banjo.

J'ai acheté ce banjo pour faire du clawhammer et parce que je recherchais un son plus chaud que celui de mon Goodtime Special Open Back.
Je cherchais aussi un banjo plus léger que mon Goodtime Special et c'est exactement le cas.
Ce banjo est léger mais cependant puissant et doté d'un son très chaud et de basses profondes grâce à la taille plus large de son fut.
J'ai doc à présent deux open Back l'un que j'accorde en open G Tuning et l'autre en double C tuning. J'en suis parfaitement satisfait et le service de Thomann a été irréprochable cette fois encore ...
Si vous chercher un banjo 5 cordes Open Back pour jouer en clawhammer à la façon de Ken Perlman ou de Mike Iverson le Goodtime Americana de la Cie Deering est tout à fait ce qu'il vous faut et si vous vivez en appartement, comme c'est mon cas, il vous faudra probablement utiliser une sourdine...personnellement je dispose un foulard en coton dans le fut et le tour est joué...
L'Amercana a bien un son particulier et ayant un Goodtime Special Open Back je peux vraiment comparer le son des deux banjos...
Pour le reste; finitions, esthétique et facilité d'appropriation c'est un Deering !
Bref à ce prix, voilà bien un superbe instrument !
