Prima Recensione - segue la seconda

È arrivata oggi, quindi posso dire ancora poco. Comunque, al momento, direi che:
- E' super compatibile, provata subito su distro Gnu/Linux funziona perfettamente out of the box.
- E' bellissima, con potenziometri perfetti e meter molto dinamici.
- Ho provato il pre con un microfono appena acquistato, quindi ora non so dare un'opinione, domani provo con l'akg p820 tube che uso spesso.
- La conversione DA sembra buona, domani provo una miglior comparazione con la mia motu 828es (che amo molto).
- Altro test che lascio ai prossimi giorni sarà vedere se posso comodamente usarla come pre in s/pdif e come monitor controller per il terzo ascolto (iloud micro) sempre in s/pdif.
- L'uscita cuffie sembra niente male (HD600).
- Nessun rumore di fondo percepito finora.

Tutto ciò è molto provvisorio, ma immagino che qualcuno stia aspettando una recensione della scheda, quindi in questi giorni vi dirò via via la mia opinione in modo sempre più dettagliato.

SECONDA RECENSIONE
Beh confermo l'aspetto estetico e costruttivo, confermo la compatibilità, i convertitori non sono granchè, il preamp cuffia è scarso di volume, i pre sono molto rumorosi. Il device è comunque molto stabile e ben isolato. L'ho acquistata appena uscita, a prezzo pieno, 460€ circa; ora è deprezzata a 355...sono piuttosto deluso, l'ho estromessa dal mio setup e ho optato per una ultralite avb di Motu. Ora mi sento meglio.

Ma quale fascia alta!

C'è poco da dire! Questa scheda audio avrebbe tutte le componenti interne per una qualità sonora di fascia alta, ma di fatto suona peggio di una Behringer UMC204HD, che costa molto meno. Non sapevo che l'avrei potuta rendere senza spese entro 30 giorni, altrimenti l'avrei fatto di corsa. Ora la tengo li in un angolo, nella sua bella confezione, in attesa di rivenderla.

Exceptional quality at this price point

I should really give this a few more days, but I can't get over how few reviews there are on this so I feel duty bound to let you know that this is a top quality interface.

Build quality.
This is a cliche at this stage, but this IS built like a tank. The knobs and buttons are better than those on the ID22, I own that too. There's nothing loose or flimsy. It's a solid build.

Bah humbug.
Maybe it's just me, but every interface I've ever owned would hum when I plugged a guitar or bass into it. No hum with this, which I wasn't expecting and I've used lots of interfaces over the years. They do mention "de-coupling" and stuff about clean power etc, so it obviously counters the hum.

Sound quality.
It sounds great, big and clean. I've had the Apogee Duet in the past, this sounds better to me. They did say that they reckon it sounds better than interfaces in the $2k range, I wouldn't know if they've achieved this as that's out of my comfort zone, but you won't be disappointed.

Features.
This doesn't make your bed or walk your dog. There's no built in plugins or guitar sims. You can't record your 32 piece orchestra with it.
it's a straight forward 2 in 2 out high quality interface.

Headphone out.
I use Sennheiser HD600 and they sound great with the 2x2. Again the sound quality is excellent.

In conclusion.
This is pretty much perfect for my needs so I can't really fault it. The only unknown is, how long will it last? I'm assuming it will well and truly outlive its 3 year warranty period based on the build quality and the fact that it's not trying to do a million and one different tasks.
