Six strings for maximum flexibility
The Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic 6 is the German bass manufacturer's most affordable six-string model – and a modern classic. The unique Corvette shape makes a real statement, leaving no doubt that this is a thoroughly contemporary instrument. The two-piece alder body comes in a deep black high-gloss finish and delivers a warm, balanced tonal foundation, with the instrument's distinctive sparkling highs and defined mids provided by its pair of active MEC soapbar pickups. An active 2-band EQ allows bass and treble to be boosted or cut as needed. All in all, the six-string Corvette offers modern bassists a wide range of musical options.
So flexible and yet so precise
The technical details alone mark the Warwick RB Corvette Basic 6 out as a versatile, precisely crafted modern bass. Its bolt-on, laminate maple neck is reinforced with two carbon strips for extra stability. The fingerboard is made from the hardwood wenge – which is smooth and dense, for a fast response – with 24 durable, extra-high jumbo frets. They're set from above and, thanks to Warwick's Invisible Fretwork Technology, the fret slots can't be seen from the sides. All this ensures optimal playability across the instrument's full 34" scale length. Personal adjustments have been made easy with a tedur Just-A-Nut III nut, a two-way truss rod, and quick-access covers. On top of that, the rear electronics compartment is shielded internally – so interference won't be an issue.
Versatile bass for well-versed bassists
More advanced and professional players will find that the Warwick RockBass Corvette Basic 6 has many different strings to its bow: It gives seasoned musicians access to almost four full octaves, more than enough for deep fundamentals, complex lines, and demanding solos. As such, it'll shine in Jazz, Rock and Fusion, as well as in Funk or the huge variety of Progressive genres. The number of strings and frets, combined with its pickup and EQ options, provide a vast arsenal of expressive possibilities. Its long scale length and fairly wide neck make this bass an instrument for musicians with plenty of experience and the physical dimensions to match.
About Warwick
Based in Markneukirchen, Saxony, Warwick, initially a manufacturer of premium basses, is known today for providing a wide range of music equipment in all sectors of the industry. The product range extends from bass guitars, bass amplifiers and cabinets (in all price brackets), bass strings and accessories, to effects units. In addition to this core business, the Warwick Distribution sales company offers almost everything that bass players, whether of four, six or even more string instruments, could require. Among them are the instruments of the Framus brand, which are remarkable for their consistently high quality. In addition to its headquarters in Markneukirchen, Warwick also has locations in Nashville and Shanghai.
Brilliant sound, balanced handling
Solidly built and precisely crafted – as bassists the world over have come to expect from Warwick – the RockBass Corvette Basic 6 will deliver the goods wherever its owner chooses to use it. Its tonewoods, active pickups, and controls produce a clearly defined low end with the assertive mids that Warwick basses are known for. Thanks to the robust rigidity of its neck components and the Warwick Security Locks, for added strap security, it'll also be a reliable companion on tour, from arenas to festivals and everything in between. And for a six-string, it isn't even all that heavy – weighing in at just 4.5kg, the Corvette 6 is comfortable enough to play throughout even the most epic sets without fatigue.
In the Spotlight
Titanium-brass frets
This Warwick bass is among the many that now feature frets made from an entirely new alloy: titanium-brass. This hard-wearing material doesn't alter the classic warm sound of a Warwick fingerboard, or its precise playability. The golden colour is eye-catching, too. The titanium is primarily intended to prevent tarnishing: Basically, the frets will look good, sound good, and feel good for longer. The ball-end frets are inserted into the tonewood via Warwick’s proprietary Invisible Fretwork Technology, with the fret slots stopping just before the edge of the fingerboard, improving resonance and comfort. Style, sound, and smooth playability: Even the smallest parts of a Warwick bass reflect their entire philosophy.
