Viennabow VB6115 Carbon Cello Bow 4/4

The first one :
The first on I got was set up wrong : the hair was to long and lose, and no amount of screwing made it playable. Following my luthier's advice, I sent it back.
No problem there ; Thomann's service is great. But still.

The second one :
So they replaced it, and it is now usable.
It is rather light, but not to much. The flexibility is good. The balance is far from perfect, but acceptable.
I was ok with it until I showed it to my teacher. I didn't tell him the price, or anything. Just gave him this bow and the 29€ Artino cello bow I had before. He played both for a while, and said he couldn't really find any noticeable difference. That was a bummer. He told me I could use the one I wanted, but didn't care for one or the other.
So I know bows are a matter of taste, and of fit with the cello, shure. But since this one is 10 times more expensive, I hoped for, at least, some clear cut, objective advantage over an entry price bow.
I like playing with it, but nothing spectacular here.

Nach dem Einspielen hat sich dieser Bogen als sehr empfehlenswerter Carbonbogen erwiesen. Die Stange ist kerzengerade und hat eine schöne sichtbare Carbonstruktur, Frosch und Garnitur sind gut verarbeitet, die Schraube ist leichtgängig und die Behaarung einwandfrei.
Der Bogen besitzt eine gleichmässige Elastizität, macht alle Techniken mit und klingt sehr gut.
Einen Punkt Abzug gibt es für die fehlende Lagerung der Schraube. Da der Bogen hohl ist, hängt die ganze Last der Spannung an der Schraube, da diese kein Gegenlager wie bei einem Holzbogen hat. Das führt zu erhöhter Reibung am Bogenende und sicherlich zu höherem Verschleiß. Dies ist allerdings bei den meisten Carbonbögen so. Mal sehen, ob die Schraube dem hohen Zug auf Dauer gewachsen ist.
