Ich wollte mal Saiten mit Kunststoffkern ausprobieren und bin vor fast vier Jahren bei Infeld rot gelandet. Von Klang und Spielbarkeit war und bin ich nach wie vor begeistert. Die Saiten sind bis auf die E-Saite sehr weich und haben im Vergleich zu Stahlsaiten eine größere Schwingungsamplitude. Dies führt zu größerer Lautstärke, aber auch zur (silberfarbenen) Rillenbildung auf dem Griffbrett - zumindest bei mir. Auch bekomme ich schnell schwarze Fingerkuppen - wohl von der Aluminiumumhüllung. Im Vergleich zu Stahlsaiten sind sie auch ohne Feinstimmer sehr gut stimmbar. Etwa 2-3 Tage nach dem Aufziehen muss immer noch nachgestimmt werden, dann ist sie super stabil. Achtung bei Feinstimmern: durch die Dicke der Saiten müssen diese aufgebogen werden, was zumindest bei mir kein Problem war. Die Kräfte auf das Instrument scheinen wesentlich kleiner zu sein als bei Stahl, gut erkennbar daran, dass mein zuvor krummer Steg fast wieder gerade ist. Leider hielten einzelne Saiten nicht so lange, wie ich mir das wünschen würde. Bei in etwa wöchentlich 3 Stunden Bespielung fiel etwa alle Jahre eine Saite aus. Es löste sich die Aluminiumumspinnung immer dort auf, wo der dritte Finger in der ersten Lage spielt. Die Saite reißt zwar nicht, aber sie ist dann nicht mehr vernünftig spielbar und muss gewechselt werden. Und trotzdem - ich kaufe sie immer wieder.
