It has a very unique sound. Also as there are no pole pieces, there is absolutely no fuss of whether the string line up with the pole pieces or not :).
It has a low output, and an impressive "bell" like sound.
I bought this pickup as a middle position between my two P-Rail pickups. With the aim of having it complimenting the rail and the P90 modes on the P-Rails in the notch positions. It works like a charm.

Best middle strat pickup with killer looks
Wired this up with a series/parallel switch. Parallel mode sounds like a very clear single coil and series mode gives a mellow sounding humbucker, which has it's niche uses.
I mostly use it in parallel mode with either a coil rail in the neck in parallel mode or a Jb Jr. in the bridge in parallel. This creates great modern strat tones used in modern prog rock. Even with those pickups in full humbucker mode creates clarity for often dark sounding pickups.
Would recommend highly!
