The Sennheiser HD 599 stands out with its large ear cups and soft, replaceable ear pads, ensuring exceptional comfort; the lightweight design and flexible headband minimise pressure on the ears, which makes for fatigue-free wear over long periods. Equipped with Sennheiser’s Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement (E.A.R.) technology, the headphones are engineered to channel audio directly into the ears, enhancing clarity and spatial accuracy. Performance specs include a wide frequency response of 12Hz to 38kHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 106dB SPL (1kHz/1Vrms), and an impedance of 50 ohms, making them suitable for a variety of listening environments.
The ivory-coloured Sennheiser HD 599 delivers an exceptional stereo soundstage, thanks to its natural and spacious audio reproduction. With an open-back design, it provides a wide, airy sound while maintaining low external noise isolation, making it an ideal choice for home listening – whether for music, movies, or TV series. Characterised by a subtle sub-bass response and a smooth, warm sound signature, the HD 599 is particularly well-suited for listeners who appreciate a relaxed and natural audio reproduction.
In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the classic MD 441 microphone, hugely enhanced the company's international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.
The Sennheiser HD 599 is designed for effortless compatibility with various audio sources, and to this end comes with two different cables and an adapter. The set includes a 1.2m cable with a 3.5mm plug for portable devices and a 3m cable with a 6.3mm plug, ideal for home audio setups. Additionally, a 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter allows the longer cable to be used with mini-jack connections, ensuring flexibility across different systems. With its low impedance, the HD 599 delivers full, dynamic sound even on portable devices, allowing music, movies, and series to be enjoyed at optimum volume without any loss in clarity.
