The Sennheiser ew IEM G4 system is a scalable, professional-grade wireless in-ear monitoring solution designed for musicians, live performers, and production teams. Each set includes two EK IEM G4 bodypack receivers, an SR IEM G4 transmitter, and two pairs of IE4 in-ear headphones, all operating within the E band UHF frequency range, i.e. 823–865MHz. The set also includes a power supply and a 19" rackmount kit to ensure seamless integration into larger systems. Delivering exceptional stereo sound quality over a maximum range of 100 metres, the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 is effortless to set up, featuring automatic frequency scanning, infrared synchronisation, and adjustable limiters to prevent distortion. Multiple systems can be daisy-chained and connected to an Ethernet network for the streamlined management of large configurations. With its rugged build, versatile features, and crystal-clear transmission, the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 excels on stage, in the studio, and at corporate events, providing tailored and flexible wireless monitoring.

Exceptional performance

The Sennheiser ew IEM G4 offers a wide dynamic range and frequency response (25Hz–15kHz), delivering a rich bass and detailed highs that can be further enhanced with custom headphones. A pilot tone stabilises the transmission over distances of up to 100 metres, even in crowded RF environments. The SR IEM G4 transmitter features dual XLR/jack inputs for balanced and unbalanced signals, parallel outputs for daisy-chaining, and Ethernet connectivity, while the EK IEM G4 receiver is equipped with an OLED display for quick access to signal levels, channel selection, and battery status. Advanced features like Mono, Stereo, and Focus modes allow users to tailor mixes to their preferences, providing optimum flexibility for individual monitoring needs. The HDX Compander technology further enhances sound clarity by reducing background noise, ensuring the highest quality audio transmission.

Scalable and rack-ready

The Sennheiser ew IEM G4 system supports up to 16 systems operating simultaneously within the same frequency range, enabling as many as 32 individual stereo or mono mixes. Whether for solo performers, multi-band setups, or corporate events, the system's flexible design allows users to start with one transmitter and expand as needed. The SR IEM G4 transmitter's Ethernet connectivity simplifies integration into larger setups, while the Sennheiser Wireless Systems Manager software streamlines frequency coordination. Additional accessories, such as the AC41 Antenna Combiner, make expansion effortless, ensuring the system adapts to growing technical requirements for both musicians and production teams. The Twin version here includes two receivers out of the box, enabling independent mixes for two performers right away.

About Sennheiser

In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the classic MD 441 microphone, hugely enhanced the company's international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.

Precision monitoring for every scenario

Wireless in-ear monitoring systems such as the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 have transformed live monitoring by eliminating stage wedges – thus reducing feedback – and delivering precise, tailored mixes that allow performers to focus fully on their craft. Its rugged construction will capably withstand the demands of touring, while its versatility extends to conference setups requiring simultaneous interpretation or film sets needing reliable communication. From bassists appreciating the clarity of their low B-string to vocalists perfecting their harmonies, from presenters managing multilingual conferences to crews running complex events, the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 ensures dependable monitoring in every professional context.

Fantastic in ear options
David M 28.11.2019
We use this product in our church to provide in ear options for our 4 singers. We have two unit run in the split mode allowing us to run 4 separate in ear mixes.

The range on the units is good enough to cover our full room.

Setup and installation was really smooth and everything worked a dream. The only feature I have not tired yet is to rack mount this unit.

We would be more than happy to use more of these units if and when we need them.

The transmitted sound is exceptionally clear and of high quality, and the auto frequency search function works flawlessly. However, I was initially expecting the unit to be packaged in a hard or soft case, but it only comes in a cardboard box. If you are not planning to use it in a rack, investing in a dedicated case is highly recommended for protection. While the transmission range is sufficient for most venues, larger spaces may require additional antennas to maintain optimal performance. That said, we’ve used the unit in over 50 events without any major issues—only minor frequency disruptions when the receiver is pushed to its range limits.

Bon système pour débuter
Dr Andreas Klein 27.11.2020
