Highly recommended especially for jazz bass

Use these on my jazz bass. So far these are the best in terms of providing a versatile sound that ranges from a full vintage to a modern sound. Also good for slapping. Overall great strings, easy playing, nice feeling on hands, durable. Highly recommended especially for jazz bass.

Excellent but....

I liked these. On my fretless, well I had to try them and wasn't disappointed. They change a lot in sound over time, less boinky, nothing unpleasant happens just get duller and duller. They did seem to die sustain wise a little bit eventually after a few months.

Never tried them before,but very pleased with the sound.
I have tried various strings before and most of them were too bright for my taste. They have have a bright tone but not too "clank-clank" that is still somehow "warm".
If you want a more oldschool hard rock/heavy metal sound (late 70s early 80s) it's the perfect choice.

Ich hatte jahrelang Rotosound gespielt, bis ich zu D’Addario wechselte. Der Grund dafür war, dass ich Nickel-Saiten mehr mochte als Stahlsaiten. Und nun ja, bei meinem Musikfachgeschäft gab’s halt nur die Stahl-Rotosounds.

Dass es fast ein Vierteljahrhundert gedauert hat, bis ich merkte, dass es die Swing Bass auch in einer Nickel-Variante gibt, sagt vielleicht mehr über mich als über Rotosound aus. Merci, Thomann, bzw. Internet. Heute benutze ich die Saiten auf allen meinen Bassgitarren, vom Fretless bis zum Fender Preci. Der Sound knickt sehr schnell von superbrilliant auf »normal« ein, und das ist GUT. Denn ab dem Einknicken bleiben sie dann auch so, der Klang verändert sich kaum noch, bis mal eine Saite reißt. Wem das ganze Hochtongeklirre wichtiger ist als dass er die Saiten längere Zeit einsetzen kann, der wird hier nicht glücklich werden. Der Rest hingegen, der nicht alle zwei Tage Saiten wechseln mag? Der wird hier mit einem sehr stabilen Klang über lange Zeit, guter Verarbeitung, vernünftig-zurückhaltender Verpackung und einem guten Preis bedient.
