Rode PodMic W

Sounds really good, picks up the voice well, may need some EQ to fine tune but shapes well enough.
Built very well, the form factor including the mount is small which is really good including the the way the XLR cable protrudes.
The white colour is really nice, I was going to but the regular version and paint it in white, but here we see rode done that for us.
It is missing a suitable popfilter designed just for this microphone, the foam windscreen defeats the purpose of this microphone and you have to rely just on your technique when speaking in to prevent plosives.

Røde has released their podmic in this brilliant white and black. Looking at the specs and listening to the mic, they have tweaked the frequency range of this mic, giving it a more "broadcast" sound. As what you would expect from Røde, the podmic white has a solid feel to it, and built to a very high standard. Priced at intro level, its definitely punching well above that price point. Far more than a "beginner" microphone, the podmic is used on some of the most popular podcasts on the planet. Highly recommended.

Optimal zum Podcasten/Livestreamen geeignet, klingt NICHT dumpf aber auch nicht übertrieben höhenbetont, kann nah (2 cm) oder mittelnah (ca. 20 cm) besprochen werden, hat einen guten Ploppfilter intern, gute Unterdrückung von unerwünschten Geräuschen (Tastatur, Maus, Lüfter usw.), ist relativ rauscharm, wenn der PreAmp gut ist, ansonsten empfehle ich als Ergänzung einen FetHead oder FetAmp oder noch besser einen TritonAudio Kompressor, der nicht nur verstärkt, sondern auch gleichzeitig in Richtung laute Pegel auch noch ein bisschen Übersteuerungssicherheit draufsetzt (Headroom wird kontrollierbarer). Ein robustes Stativ/BoomArm ist von Nöten, das Ding ist schwer. PSA1+ oder Vergleichbares.
An vielen Stellen im Internet (außerhalb der Thomann Seite, z.B. bei Amazon MP) sieht man Bilder, auf denen diese weiße PodMic eher lichtgrau oder betongrau aussieht, das stimmt nicht, es hat zwar einen leichten Touch ins Cremefarbene, aber jedenfalls NICHT GRAU. Die Abbildungen von Thomann treffen es ziemlich gut.
Das weiße PodMic klingt genauso wie die dunkelgraue/schwarze Version des PodMics. Es gibt kein weiter mitgeliefertes Zubehör, der Karton zur Aufbewahrung ist einigermaßen kompakt, belegt auch nicht viel Platz im Schrank.

Ist das PodMic 100~120 € wert? Im Vergleich mit einem SM58 (ca. 110€) würde ich sagen: ganz klar ja. Im Vergleich mit einem Fifine K688 (65€) würde ich sagen: ganz klar ja.
Alternativen in dieser Preisklasse? Das Beyerdynamic M70 Pro X (z.Zt. 80€, ploppanfälliger, aber höhenbetonter, dafür Ploppfilter im Lieferumfang), Zoom ZDM1 PMP (110€, kräftiger im Ausgangspegel und Tischstativ, Kopfhörer, Schaumstoff im Lieferumfang), Rode XDM100 (110€, mit Software Unify einfacher handhabbar, da USB-Mikro, kein Interface benötigt, bis zu vier XDMs lassen sich gleichzeitig an einem PC betreiben, digitale Dynamics mitgeliefert Kompressor/Expander/Exciter/LoCut, Schaumstoffaufsatzkorb inklusiv, etwas dumpfer bei Nahbesprechung, mit Exciter kann das aber gut ausgeglichen werden).
