With their new L Class loudspeakers, the Californian manufacturer QSC has lifted the bar yet again for reference-grade PA audio. This QSC LA108/LS118 Power Bundle brings together all the components required for a professional stereo PA at a very attractive price for performance of this calibre. Anyone seeking powerful bass with transparent sound will be well served by the two LS118 high‑performance subwoofers; equally impressive are the 1,300W LA108 loudspeakers, supplied here in a set of four. This configuration enables full‑range stereo coverage of medium‑sized rooms with QSC's renowned audio quality. Also included are connection cables and distance poles from reputable manufacturers, underscoring the professional standard of this bundle.
The QSC LS118 subwoofers form the physical and acoustic foundation of this PA bundle. With 4,000W peak output, an 18" driver and a frequency range extending down to 35 Hz, they deliver massive low‑end response with ample headroom. As models from the same series, the subwoofers and tops are perfectly matched: Via the integrated DSP or the QSC SysNav app, crossover, delay, presets, and other parameters can be adjusted with precision. Because the LA108 loudspeakers are deployed in pairs, they can be configured as part of a vertically fine‑tuned array; their wider 100° horizontal dispersion allows coverage of larger audience areas. The 134dB peak output has to be heard to be believed: With QSC's LEAF waveguide technology in the tweeters, dynamic sound is assured.
With this level of performance, cleanly set up using the height‑adjustable K&M distance poles, the QSC LA108/LS118 Power Bundle covers a wide range of professional applications. Apropos wide: Even wider rooms (otherwise requiring sidefills, for instance) of up to roughly 30m in width and 25m in depth can be covered with ease. The LA108 units, working together as an array, reliably reach the even the last members of the audience, for events of up to 400 people. Open‑air setups of this scale also benefit from the flexible power of this professional all‑in‑one system, such as small festival stages or outdoor cinema events. This QSC bundle is thus aimed at event service providers, A/V rental companies, and organisers in churches, clubs, and municipal venues who require a stable, high‑performance and highly flexible stereo PA.
QSC was founded in California in 1968 and has since established itself as a global leader in the design and manufacture of professional audio system solutions. At QSC, everything - power amplifiers, loudspeakers, digital signal processing (DSP) and digital mixing consoles – is developed under the one roof. This results in products and systems whose features are perfectly matched to one another. QSC's expertise is also evident in its state-of-the-art production technology and quality control. Its products are manufactured both in China and in QSC's own facility, which covers more than 7,500 square meters in Costa Mesa, California.
The QSC L Class is among the most advanced active line‑array systems in its category and brings a range of intelligent features that greatly simplify setup. For planning and deployment, QSC's AIM software (Array Installation Modeling) provides a powerful tool that virtually simulates coverage within the room – even for more complex arrays – allowing precise decisions to be made in advance. If additional output is required, QSC's RapidDeploy system makes mechanical expansion straightforward, for example when adding an extra LA108 per side for increased vertical reach. All loudspeakers can be controlled, monitored, and configured via the QSC SysNav app or the built‑in displays, using DSP parameters such as filters, EQ and presets, including operation as part of a larger Dante network. The ecosystem is rounded off by an exceptionally long warranty period of six years upon registration.
RapidDeploy
Anyone who works in live sound knows how hard it can be to source and finance large crews. It's therefore a huge benefit of the L‑Class system that the speakers can be deployed and configured by a single operator. QSC's RapidDeploy technology means that all rigging‑relevant mechanical components are integrated into the loudspeaker enclosures themselves: no loose pins, bolts, or external small parts that could be misplaced or awkward to handle. Each loudspeaker incorporates front and rear hooks along with a locking lever with clearly labelled angles, enabling just one person to install an entire array quickly and safely. Beyond ease of handling, this construction also eliminates exposed external rigging hardware, giving each array a clean, unobtrusive appearance.
