I love trying string sets and finding a unique voice for all my instruments.
While the Pyramids never made it to be the one, they're the only one I know that always works, no matter on what Bass, and are my backup for everything. Love em, they (and their nickle sibling) never felt out of place for me in years.

Ich bin vor einigen Jahren auf diese Saiten im Internet gestossen und habe sie ( und das mache ich heute immer noch gerne ) mir einfach einmal einen 45-er auf 105-er Satz in Edelstahl bestellt, um meinen "Bass-Saiten-Horizont" zu erweitern.

Ich spiele einen 73er Fender Precision Bass und stehe auf den knurrigen Ton mit spritzigen Höhen in Verbindung mit schönen warmen und fetten Tiefmitten. Nachdem ich die Saiten bestellt und bekommen hatte ( wie immer bei thomann reibungslos ), zog ich die Saiten auf und war schon ohne Amp von der Höhenabzeichnung und Ansprache der Saiten begeistert. Es knurrt wie Hölle ... dann am Amp bestätigte sich der gute Eindruck und seitdem sind es meine Lieblings-Bass-Saiten. Wenn ich die tiefe E-Saite anschlage, klingt es fast, als wenn man das tiefe E am Klavier spielt .... ganz klar, metallisch und sauber mit viel Druck untenrum.

Man könnte die Saiten mit den ebenfalls sehr guten Warwicks der schwarzen Serie vergleichen, nur in allen Belangen noch etwas extremer, was die Höhen und damit die "Frische" betrifft.

Einmal vor Jahren hatte ich in einem Satz eine sehr muffig und matt klingende E-Saite, woraufhin ich Pyramid eine Email schrieb und diese mir nur wenige Tage später 3 neue einzelne E-Saiten kostenlos mit einem netten kleinen Entschuldigungsbrief zuschickten. Da kann ich nur sagen : Toller Service, Hut ab !

Comme avec toutes les cordes en acier, quand elles sont toutes fraîches on fait woooooow, mais après très peu de temps, il n'y a plus de son, et quand je dis plus de son, je dis bien plus rien, nada, niente, inutilisables pour moi après deux, voir trois semaines... Je suis depuis longtemps passé aux cordes en nickel, que je trouve meilleures à tout aspect, mais surtout pour le fait que même quand elles sont complètementmortes, elles gardenr un son dont on peut encore se servir. Pyramid m'a déçu plusieurs fois, je déconseille donc...
