Useful way of reducing the weight on your arms when playing.
I bought this for use with Euphonium instead of a hand strap when playing sitting down. It works very well and it is not very expensive. The round side goes on your leg and the material on the top of the pad grips the instrument well. The height of the pad is adjusted by opening the side and removing one or two of the foam rubber sections. The foam rubber is quite solid so it doesn't compress too much under the weight of the instrument.
