I have used this drum for an outside festival gig, and it performed just fine. I even used the stock heads, just cut a 5 inch port hole in the resonant head and put two blankets inside. The sound man commented saying there was plenty of low end coming from the drum. I haven’t tried it for recordings yet, but I’m sure it will perform just fine.
