I got this arm for my Rode Podmic, a bit of a heavier mic but still within the spec of the arm. I barely change the vices on it because i just keep it on my desk and pivot it away when its not being used. Today when adjusting the hinge that holds the mic, it will not tighten at all, and now my mic permanently dangles and swings on the hinge. A similar thing has happened to a much lesser extent on the middle hinge a couple weeks ago. Get what I pay for i guess.

An
Fell apart suddenly
A newbie musician 30.06.2025
The arm worked fine until one night it fell apart (when nothing was mounted to it!). It has a beefy spring inside, and a 1.5 mm thin steel cable attached to the spring on both ends, giving the arm its strength. One of the eyelets on the cable snapped off, because it had a defect in it from the factory (it was badly attached to the cable and cracked).

Poor construction?
Tadas_S 05.07.2024
Generally it's OK. Not effortless to adjust, but since most of the time I only rotate it on the base it's fine.
However.. One day it just "popped" and collapsed. Looks like it has a thin steel cable inside which pulls all sections together. It snapped at one end. As I said I hardly adjusted it over its life time. Used it little over 1 year.
