Vorab das Setting: In einem Zeitraum von 16 Monaten wurden aus einem größeren Fundus auf einem Meister-Cello Jahrgang 2018 mindestens 40 Saiten unterschiedlichster Marken und Stärken, überwiegend, aber nicht nur im Hochpreissegment, getestet, zuletzt jetzt die Aurora D-Saite in strong, die G-Saite in strong und medium sowie die C-Saite in strong.
Fazit: Die D-Saite sowie beide G-Saiten haben eine ganz schlechte Ansprache, in der vierten und höheren Lagen völlig inakzeptabel. Der an typischer Stelle auf der G-Saite auftretende und alternativ durch mehrere andere Saiten sowie jeweils die Verwendung eines Torte-Dämpfers weitestgehend beherrschbare Wolf tritt wieder voll zutage. Auch die Klangfarbe überzeugt nicht. Ich kann nur vermuten, daß diese Saiten entsprechend ihrer technischen Struktur eine höhere Spannung bräuchten oder für ältere Instrumente geeigneter wären.
Im deutlichen Kontrast hierzu ist die C-Saite (strong) sehr empfehlenswert. Mit einer guten, weichen Ansprache und einem akzeptablen - wenn auch nicht im Spitzenbereich liegenden - Sound über alle Lagen stellen sie aus meiner Sicht - zumal angesichts des günstigen Preises - eine gute Neuentwicklung dar.
