Sturdy mute

This is a good mute for classical or big band style and especially for a quick change of mute. The bucket mute with clamps is sometimes tricky if you have 2-4 bars switch but with this one there's no problem. Also the metal body is strong and will last long.

This mute gives a good sound but does not fit very well
TomasH 05.09.2014
It is a very strange design. You have to push it into the bell very hard so you not loose it. A soft bell will be dented from the inside by the corks. When it is pushed in the sound and the respone are good.

It was first when I pulled out my Conn 73H which is a small bass trombone that I found a bell that liked this mute.

Disappointing

Does not fit the bell of the trombone properly. Awkwardly weighted when used. You could file the corks a little bit but I don’t feel you’d be able to use it without using one hand to make sure it doesn’t fall out of the bell.
May fit bass trombone but not a Rath R2 or similar size trombone
