Jackson Pro Series JL SL7 HT BLK ASH

My first seven string. Sounds absolutely massive, the Seymour Duncan Noumenon passives really give you the Jeff Loomis sound. They are the most active resembling passive pickups on the market.

Excellent instrument, a shred machine, beautiful sandblasted ash finish, super thin neck where you can shred for days on end. Simple and efficient 3 way switch and volume knob, needs nothing more, just plug and play.

However, this is where the bad run starts. Horrendous quality control, and i've seen this in other people's instruments, from Jackson. The white binding had broken in the body part of the instrument, in multiple areas. That's a general downside with Korean instruments. It's a hit or miss in the final quality control they go through before shipping. You have the right to expect more for an instrument that pertains to professionals, with that price tag.

Very happy with my purchase overall, just the binding being off standard is the buzzkill.

Hight Quality the fretboard is ebony for me the best option cuz i jam many years in ebony fretboards,incomming for 6 string guitar for many years feel 0 difference of 7 string fretboard
the pick ups are amazing first time with passive and im much impressed on distortion and cleans channels

1 and 2 scrathces on white binding ok they are there around fretboard or body but is just ok no big deal they are like zero visibility

gibt es das Jeff Loomis Modell mit passiven Pickups und fester Brücke! Darauf habe ich gewartet, seit die erste Version herauskam ... Dass es sogar komplett neuendwickelte Tonabnehmer geben würde hätte ich nicht unbedingt erwartet, aber nehme ich natürlich sehr gern, denn die SD Noumenon klingen super (sollten sie bei dem Preis auch, jeweils knapp 200 Euro ... Wieso kostet das Set hier eigentlich fast 500??), singen ohne schrille Höhen und haben einen wirklich saftigen Punch!
Die Werkseinstellung war auch ok, bisschen Nachjustieren, aber sie ist direkt aus dem Karton spielbar. Lackierung und Binding top, die sandgestrahlte Decke macht richtig was her und ist bei jedem Modell natürlich einzigartig. Locking-Tuner ab Werk sind auch dabei, würde ich in dem Preissegment aber auch erwarten!
Abzüge gibt es nur in der B-Note, der Hals ist für meinen Geschmack doch reichlich dünn (war aber beim anderen Modell auch so) und die Hipshot-Brücke hätte es auch nicht sein müssen, aber das ist wirklich Meckern auf allerhöchstem Niveau und definitv eine persönliche Sache. Insgesamt verdiente 5 Sterne für eine tolle Gitarre, die optisch, haptisch und auch vom Sound genau das liefert, was sie verspricht!

On va commencer par les points positifs :
- Le look est super cool, si on aime le noir bien sur !
- Les caractéristiques sont top, le sélecteur micro est parfaitement placé pour un changement rapide. J'aurai préféré un diapason en 25,5", mais ça à l'air de devenir rare en 7 cordes, et puis le 26,5" à des avantages surtout si on désaccorde en Drop A ou un demi ton en dessous (comme ce cher Jeff !)
- Les micros sont bien, même si je préfère quand même les Fishman Fluence.
- La finition est correct, mais...
Les points négatifs :
- Le micro manche n'est pas correctement centré par rapport aux cordes, du coup le mi aigu n'est pas exactement en face des pôles du micro... Ça n'a pas vraiment d'incidence sur le son, j'ai l'impression qu'il a juste mal été posé à l'assemblage. Je verrai lors du prochain changement de cordes si j'arrive à le mettre correctement.
- Le plus grave : le sillet de tête ne tenait que par miracle... j'ai du le recoller moi-même. Il y avait une micro trace de colle dessus, forcément ça ne peut pas tenir...

En conclusion, une bonne gratte, confortable, un look cool, qui sonne bien, mais des problèmes de contrôle qualité qui peuvent avoir de grosses conséquences, heureusement que je bricole des grattes depuis un moment, mais ce n'est pas le cas de tout le monde...
