My instrument came with a visible bow at the neck joint, resulting in a really uncomfortable, high action. It cannot be the temperatures in the delivery truck (7°C today). The factory setup and/or quality assurance just did not do its job.
I also am not satisfied with how rough the neck feels. My american Fender Strat (similar price range) and both my Strandbergs feel much smoother. Perhaps, I may have to wipe it later and see whether it's just fine splinter dust bugging me.
The sound is okay. The pickups are relatively noisy compared to what I am used to. They pick up and amplify EMI/RFI easily. The tone certainly is not bad but might suffer from the high action right now. After changing strings and setting up the neck/bridge, I may have to revise my first impression. But I'll certainly have to shield the electronics with copper tape also. This one is a literal piece of work, considering it's the "prestige line".
A couple of minor things, that bother me, is how the headstock piece is visibly glued together by multiple tiny wood pieces (one can actually see some of the construction details in the photos) and looking upclose, I found a couple of places with glue residuals and some wood-work imperfections.
Other than that, the guitar and case look amazing and I like the feature set.
I would love to keep it... hopefully I can fix the issues. =(
edit: Luckily, I managed to fix playability by adjusting the trustrod, changing the strings to a 9-gauge and lowering the saddle heights. The pickups are phenomenal and I love the 2nd and 4th position in particular.
I believe at the price point, you get what you pay for. If that's the quality for more expensive Prestige models, I would avoid them, however.
