Unbelievable for the price
I purchased this bass as I need a 5 string for a couple of songs and didn't want to spend a lot of money, Hartley Benton have a good following and reputation so I went ahead and ordered it.... What a shock when I unpacked it, it looks great and plays great straight out of the box. Sturdily made, uncomplicated split coil with 2 volume controls, it only needs a little tweaking on the bridge to get the intonation bang on and the frets need dressing, but that's usual on even much more expensive instruments. We'll done HB and Thomann, it's a cracking bass at a low price

I heard good things but this...
I'd been watching review videos about this brand for awhile, and they were mostly good, but I was completely surprised at how good this bass is. The only thing I can even try to complain about is having to slightly file the fret ends and adjust the truss rod to fix a tiny buzzing. I love it.

Great bass for a Great price!
the price totally pays off, the bass sounds amazing, the quality of it is amazing, the neck of the bass is sturdy and the weight is just perfect for playing standing up, my only issue which is miniscule, is that when i slap bass my nails have chipped a bit of the red part in the middle of the bass, but nothing that ruins it at all, just make sure if you have long nails playing bass avoid poking it!
