A customisable cab for any 12-inch speaker

The Harley Benton G112Plus Unloaded guitar cabinet is the ideal choice for guitarists looking for a flexible, compact, and affordable speaker cab that can be configured to suit their individual preferences. This unloaded cabinet comes without a speaker, allowing it to be fitted with any 12" driver and giving players the freedom to shape their sound to match their setup precisely. Another key feature is the semi-open back, which contributes to a more open, spacious sound and adds further tonal flexibility. At just over 7kg, the G112Plus Unloaded is also easy to transport and well suited to a wide range of applications.

Harley Benton G112Plus Unloaded

All 12-inchers welcome!

The Harley Benton G112Plus Unloaded gives users complete freedom when it comes to choosing a 12" speaker. Some players will be after a punchy, bass-heavy sound for Rock or Metal; others may prefer a clear, cutting tone for Funk or Jazz – selecting the right speaker makes all the difference. The G112Plus is also well suited to reusing speakers from an existing or damaged cabinet. For installation, a set of M4 screws is included, allowing the speaker to be mounted securely. The connection cables are soldered to the jack socket and fitted with solder-free 1/4" speaker connectors at the other end, making for straightforward installation without the need for additional tools. The use of an 8-ohm speaker is recommended to ensure optimal operation.

Compact & robust

The G112Plus Unloaded guitar cabinet is a great choice for price-conscious players looking to personalise their speaker setup. Its solid construction, flexible customisability, and excellent value for money make it a reliable tool for guitarists who want to dial in their sound without compromise. As well as sounding the part, a guitar cab also needs to be able to withstand the inevitable knocks of everyday use. The G112Plus delivers here with its metal corner protectors, a durable grille cloth to safeguard the speaker, and a sturdy 18mm poplar plywood enclosure with a lightweight falcata core and resilient meranti back and top layers, two hardwoods chosen for their acoustic properties and durability.

About Harley Benton

Since 1998, the Harley Benton brand has been catering for the needs of countless guitarists and bassists. In addition to an extensive range of stringed instruments, Thomann's house brand also offers a wide choice of amplifiers, speakers, effect pedals, and other accessories. In total, the range includes over 1,500 products. Built by established names in the industry, all Harley Benton products combine quality and reliability at attractive and affordable prices. The continuous expansion of the range ensures that Harley Benton always provides new, exciting, and innovative products that keep players perfectly in tune with the musical world, day after day.

Plenty of power for rehearsals and gigs

It's not always necessary to roll out the heavy artillery: For many rehearsals or smaller gigs, a single 12" speaker in a compact cabinet can provide more than enough volume and presence when paired with an amp head, combo, or modeller. This is exactly where the Harley Benton G112Plus Unloaded comes into its own, with robust handle and rubber feet making it especially easy to handle. Adding a second cab is straightforward too, which is a cost-effective way of putting together a full stereo system. By the way: The Harley Benton G112 guitar cabinet is also available in a range of configurations, including versions preloaded with Celestion 12" speakers and in a Thiele design with a closed back. These options offer a solid starting point for building a tailored setup.

Merci Thomann.

Nice and light
From Canada, eh! 02.07.2024
Got this for my Katana MKII Head as a travel cab, so I don't need to lug around the 2x12. Put a Waza speaker in it (100w version of a greenback) so the sound is not different from my 2x12.

It's lighter than my Marshall 1x12, and is the perfect width to match the Katana head. Wish the handle would extend out a little more, it's quite small of a hole to put your hand into. I had no issues mounting the speaker, and the feet were level (it's squared up properly).

Sounds good but

Sounds good, no complaints there. Fixing a speaker with the provided screws is not. It came loose after a really small drop with the wood teared in one of the holes. HB should provide some nuts and bolts instead of parker screws, way more stable and secure

A
Screw holes don't match an Eminence speaker
AGuitarPlayer 20.09.2025
I was under the impression that the screw holes are standardized when it comes to speakers, but apparently Celestion and Eminence speakers don't have the holes on exactly the same spots, as I've learned by trying to install a new Eminence speaker unsuccessfully and then doing a quick search on the internet. I'll be keeping the box anyway, I kinda installed it forcefully and ruined the holes a bit; the speaker is holding on so far, but it's obviously not the best solution. I might try to drill new holes later on (although the terminal wires running from the cabinet seem a bit short, so they'll have to be very close to the original ones), or I'll close these existing ones with some wood and wood glue and then drill them again, I haven't really decided yet. Anyway, if you're planning installing Eminence speakers in it, you should know what you'll be dealing with.

When it comes to the features and quality, some more precise instructions for connecting the speaker and the cables would be welcomed by the less experienced, especially because the colour of the wires in the cabinet doesn't match the ones featured in the instructional leaflet you get with the cabinet (there's a black and white wire in the cabinet and black and red in the diagram of the leaflet). When it comes to the quality, you can't fault much for this kind of money I guess, but I think it would be better if the speaker was attached to the cabinet with some nuts and bolts, than with a screw (as another reviewer also commented), the speaker would be much more safe and stable.

I've bought an unloaded 1x12 cabinet by Palmer at the same time, it was a bit more expensive but I can already see the cables in that one are of the higher quality and it would be the one I would personally choose between the two. I haven't tried to install the Eminence speaker in it yet though, but presumably the issue will be the same.
