Ich habe mir den Gotoh TL-Custom NE NI für meine Partscaster-Tele geholt – ursprünglich, weil ich etwas Warmes und Vintage-Angehauchtes für die Halsposition gesucht habe. Was ich bekommen habe, war allerdings deutlich mehr: ein Pickup, der mich überrascht hat.

Schon der erste Eindruck war warm und organisch. Der TL-Custom liefert ein jazziges, rundes Fundament, das sofort Spaß macht. Gleichzeitig bleibt er offen und klar genug, um bluesige Phrasen sauber aufzulösen. Die Ansprache fühlt sich weich an, aber nicht matschig.

Was mich wirklich erstaunt hat: Der Pickup kann Distortion. Für Soli bleibt er durchsetzungsfähig, singt schön und hat dieses leichte „Schmatzen“, das beim Spielen richtig Spaß macht. Er bleibt definiert, ohne die typische Hals-Fülle zu verlieren.

Optisch passt er perfekt – dezent, klassisch und hochwertig.

Ein warmer, musikalischer Allround-Halspickup, der weit mehr liefert, als man für diesen Preis erwartet. Jazz, Blues, Clean, Crunch, Lead mit Distortion – der Gotoh TL-Custom NE NI macht alles mit. Absolute Empfehlung für alle, die ihre (Budget-) Tele an der Halsposition klar aufwerten wollen.
