Not for me.
This was my first experience with flatwound strings and I initially put them on my jackson bass and they gave a pleasing "thump"! However I found that they seemed harder to play than the equivalent gauge of roundwound string. I'm sure that is something that's probably common to all tapewound strings not just these fenders. Anyway the problems began when I decided to move them to my spare bass (a peavey p bass copy) to see how they sounded on that. Unfortunately I never found out as the wire under the silk coverings of the strings were very brittle particularly on the g string and it actually broke while I was tuning up and there wasn't enough slack to retune it. I've moved harley benton strings back and forward between basses without any problems and they are a fraction of the price of these strings. My advice is if you buy these strings you have to be pretty decisive about what bass in your collection they are destined because if you swap them over it could be costly!
