A really robust 10" active speaker

The EV ELX200-10P is a very modern two-way active speaker, ready for use as an all-rounder for DJs and solo artists, for musicians and bands, and for presenters and entertainers. This flexibility also makes it a solid investment for rental companies, venues, and schools. Equipped with a 10" woofer, it's the most compact model in the ELX200 series; yet with up to 1200W of peak power, its bevelled wedge shape, and a tripod flange, it can handle almost any scenario, from floor monitor to front-of-house PA. The functions of this speaker – and up to six additional units – can be conveniently remotely controlled via Bluetooth and a mobile device. But if the sound tech forgot their smartphone, or forgot to charge it, don't worry — the display on the back of the device also provides full control over EV's proprietary QuickSmart DSP.

Less weight, more power

Electro-Voice has given the EV ELX200-10P a 1200W Class D power amplifier, its own EVS-10M 10" woofer, and a DH-1C 1" titanium tweeter. The frequency response ranges from 53Hz to 20kHz with a crossover frequency of 1800Hz. The maximum sound pressure level is 130dB, while the coverage angle is 90° x 60°. The patented SST waveguide improves the acoustic performance and ensures consistent output across all system configurations with compact housing dimensions. There are two lockable XLR/jack combo sockets for microphone/line signals and a stereo AUX input for channel 1 on the back panel. Hook up another speaker and it, too, can be controlled via XLR link. Also very practical is the fact that the peak limiter algorithm, adapted from the EV concert sound systems, prevents damage to the speakers – while also protecting the performers and their audience.

Hardware for pros and experts

The Electro-Voice ELX200 series is tailor-made for professionals who don't want to make any compromises on sound – while still demanding practicality and usability, either on the road or in a permanent setup. The configuration options of the QuickSmart DSP also score points here: It's easy to adjust all the ELX200s to the specific use context and sound requirements using the three-band EQ and ready-to-use presets (Music, Live, Speech, and Club). In addition, it features five user slots with save and recall functions, as well as input/output level controls, including visual monitoring options with warning messages sent directly to the user's smartphone. To keep this high-tech gear safe, EV has housed it all in a polypropylene chassis with powder-coated steel front grilles, resulting in a user-friendly weight of just 13.5kg for this model.With the handles on the top and sides, it couldn't be easier to get it to the gig.

All this can be managed via the app, which covers everything from the quick adjustments necessary before a singer-songwriter hits the stage, all the way up to far more extensive setups, where nearby, ready-to-operate speakers can be identified and dynamically combined into groups according to where they're located. Excellent quality best in this price range

Bought this to use in combination with a pedal board instead of an acoustic amp and it works a treat. Possibly a bit more expensive than a smaller acoustic amp but similar in price to a decent amp and a lot cheaper than the top of the range stuff and as loud and clear as you would need for most applications. Superb quality as you would expect from Electro voice and not too heavy to be lugging about from gig to gig. It also doubles up as a spare P.A. top for emergencies. Obviously it's a quality P.A. top as it is but much more flexible than just that.

bisher hab ich über ein alte Dynacord Chorus Line mit 12-3er Tops und 15er Bässen gespielt. In der Zwischenzeit hat mein Musikerkollege alle Nase lang eine andere PA daher gebracht, da wir gerne etwas handlicheres haben wollten: Säulen System, Satellitensystem aktiv/passiv, mit einem Sub, mit 2 etc. Nichts hat uns wirklich vom Sound her überzeugt.
Bis ich mir jetzt die EV ELX200 Serie angeschafft habe. 12SP Bässe und 10P Top Teile.
Der Klang überzeugt voll, auch wenn es mal lauter und druckvoller wird, auch bei unserer 5-Mann Rock/'n'Roll Band mit abgenommenem Schlagzeug.
Das System ist handlich und obwohl aktiv nicht so schwer.
Über das DSP lässt sich das System an die Situation anpassen, ob als PA, Monitor, mit oder ohne Bass etc.
Den Preis wert! Jederzeit gerne wieder.

Loud and clear

These 10" speakers are a delight. Very Portable and LOUD!
My favorite thing is that even though you push them, they still sound clear and "warm". The strain that I hear from the (Sorry JBL) EON 612 horn is simply not there.
You DO need a Sub-Woofer to start a "club" party, but combine these with the 12" ELX Sub and your golden!
