Great, but not perfect...
Duncan M. 14.09.2013
I use these strings on a BC Rich Warlock, and I play extreme metal. Mostly in the realms of grindcore and doom metal. As far as tunings go, I tend to stay in E standard and drop D - although I do sometimes downtune more depending on what I'm playing.

These strings are fantastic for what I play - the heavy bottoms really add weight to the bottom end, making low notes ring out with the desired heavy sound. Palm muting is a breeze as well. Tremolo picking can be a bit difficult at times on the E string, but this can be countered by just making sure your hand is placed right. The higher strings are nice and smooth, and they react nicely to playing fast. They can cope with some pretty severe bending as well, which is always nice.

Although I mostly stay in E standard tuning, these strings can go lower pretty well. Taking them down to D standard is still very much playable. Drop C or C# is possible, but that is getting into the realms of strings being a bit floppy and loose. I have taken them down to B standard before, and it wasn't completely unusable - certainly, to record a demo or idea, it would be alright.

They also hold their tuning very well - and I've never had any slip on me, and every time I've broken a string, it's been because it was a few months old.

My only gripe with these strings is that they don't last all that long - the thicker strings have a decent life, but the plain strings can feel very rusty and gritty after not too long - and that is with me wiping down the strings after every time playing it.

Overall though, these strings are pretty great. Well worth the small amount of money they cost. They don't last the longest, but buying in bulk will sort out that particular problem. Definitely recommended.

Nice Set

Can't say much...
I like to try something different from time to time, so I bought these.
It's a good product. Sound good enough, and all...
But I prefer D'Addarios... I've been using them for years and found nothing better FOR ME.
Of course is a matter of taste, so maybe they're perfect for you.
I recommend them, give them a try.

Love the feel and heft

i wanted to go between more tunings and this does the job perfectly. it sits really well in D# and D standard and i love how it sounds in drop C# but for me i think drop C makes the low string too loose and i might go up to a 54 gauge for that.

Ov
brillance absolue

Nice, but not perfect
Anonymous 19.10.2016
This is a pretty standard set of strings and you can't go much wrong with it. It's durable, sounds nice, though not as nice as some sets i tried, however that comes down to personal opinion. They're used by many musicians worldwide so they have gained a good reputation, and i think for a good reason. They are made with high quality, packed very nicely and the strings inside the set are flawless.

Very good for playing lower tuned music!
Hybricl 07.12.2021
Looks super sleak when those strings fade from beefy to skinny.
Works on Drop B and A really well.
Only thing you might want to watch out for is snapping that 1st string since it is really skinny.

LB
great strings for heavy riffing
Lucas B 22.10.2017
I love these strings, they're the ultimate balance between being loose enough at the top for nice soloing, and thick enough at the bottom for tight riffage.
The tone is great, these strings sound good and are perfect for a full sound.
quality? meh... I play almost daily on these strings, around half an hour, treating them with fast fret, and I still break them after 4 to 6 weeks. I tried the paradigm equivalent, but they broke after just 2 weeks, so they're not worth the extra price.
I swear by these ernie balls!
