What you would expect from EHX
The Fordster 29.07.2025
I watched the video of Josh from JHS design and build this pedal with Daniel Danger. The video was fun, and the pedal in the video sounded like something EHX would have built in the 70s. Then EHX decided to release the pedal, and I toyed with the idea of buying it, but as I have multiple fuzz pedals already, never got round to doing it.
I looked in Thomann, and it had been reduced from £99 to £43, so I decided to give it a go.
Arrived this morning, and I am not disappointed. Build quality is typical EHX, sound wise, it is a very nice fuzz, can be raspy when balance knob is turned to the "Sun", and dark when turned to "Shadow" and everything in-between. Octave knob brings in quite a lot of body when set to the right, and can be toned down by going left to your own preference. Volume controls the overall loudness of the pedal.
I would say this is my second favourite EHX Fuzz after the Big Muffin Pi Triangle, not bad considering I have at least 6 EHX fuzzes now.
The review dropped a star in the features because you have no control over the amount of Fuzz, it is a set amount. I would have liked to roll back the fuzz a little, but it is only a minor gripe.
If you like Fuzz, then you should add this to your collection.
Another fine pedal from Electro-Harmonix in collaboration with Josh from JHS Pedals and Daniel Danger.

Really interesting fuzz
Hfjfjh 08.08.2025
After reading other reviews online I was worried it would be hard to find "sweet spots" on this pedal, but from the first time I put it on the board I loved it.
Definitely not exactly a typical fuzz. The fixed gain seemed a strange idea to me at first but I quickly came around to the idea.
I've found putting another drive pedal before or after it can give it a lot of depth and character, and by itself it can be both biting or velcro-y depending on settings.
Really enjoying the lizard queen.
And as always thomann staff were great. This was out of stock at the time of purchase and they were happy to send the rest of my order right away and the lizard queen later as soon as it was back in stock for no extra delivery charge

A great little box of fun, asking to be understood (and tamed)
MyNameIsNotBob 08.09.2025
This is a fantastic little pedal. I have little experience with fuzz, that has to be sad. Regardless, I love the sound of the Lizard queen. The octave needs to be set fairly high to do its thing. The shadow/sun knob adds a fair bit of versatility. On the dark side, it's a rich, thick fuzz with plenty low end. On the sun side, it spits and squeals aggressively. In this second state, and with the octave engaged at full, turning down the volune on your guitar gets you into ring modulation territory.
The pedal is very versatile and pairs very well with my blues breaker style od. It pairs terribly with my tube screamer clone, so it doesn't like all overdrives. Exploring rhe different sounds this oedal offers, and remembering to dial back your guitar volume, will wield worthy results
