My favorite beater

This is my favorite beater... I own all three of the dragonfly beaters and this really is my favorite...
I replaced my vater bomber with this and I don't think I'll back to it any time soon. The weight is the best. It has great response. It is really boomy but with a subtle attack perfect for bebop drumming.

It has fullness and I really like it a quieter situations. Still can deliver enough power.

beautifull sound, but less soft/silent

it is very subjective; I was looking for something that is a little bit less fluffy then the (much appreciated) Vic Firth fleece beater. This one is already to hard. I will try the softer dragonfly. But the sound is very nice and warm. More for gentle recording then for silent practice close to real feel.

Lange gesucht und endlich gefunden!

Die Menge an Beater-Modellen ist ja fast endlos, jedoch hab ich seit einigen Jahren genau sowas gesucht. Ich hatte einen Beater, welcher vom Sound sehr ähnlich war, wie dieser, der aber schon ziemlich abgenutzt war und zur Schonung nur sporadisch raus durfte.
Wer einen warmen Vintage Sound sucht, ist bei den Modellen von Dragonfly genau richtig. Passt sowohl für kleine, offen gestimmte Basstrommeln im Jazz, als auch für grössere Drums im Rock-Pop-Bereich.

Im Vergleich zu anderen Modellen (primär mit Kork-Kern) fühlt sich dieser Beater für mich wesentlich besser an und entspricht meiner Soundvorstellung von einem bassigen, aber dennoch punchigen Sound.

Zur Langlebigkeit kann ich bisher noch nichts sagen, die Verarbeiten sieht auf jeden Fall sehr gut aus.
