good look, quality build, great sound

I use this pedal instead of a wah-pedal because of the different sounds you can make with this pedal. the pros for this pedal is the sound quality, the metal case and the possibilities qua sounds. I like the design of the pedal too. The cons for this pedal is that they don't seem work with the T-rex Fuel tank classic for powering. Although the pedal consumes only 300mA wich should be perfect for the T-rex. I had to buy a different power suply that had a 500mA output for 2 of the Digitech pedals i own. overall this pedal is very good and it was exactly the sound i was looking for.

Don't forget that it is not true bypass when momentary mode is on, even if it is not being used. It affects the clean sound.

Ballistics make the difference

For just a pitch shifter, I would prefer the Pitchfork (or others). The pitchfork has a lot more possibilities and a less glitchy sound. The BALLISTICS is what makes this pedal unique. With the Expression pedal on the Pitchfork, you cannot control the speed of effectchange that much (there are some possibilities). But this pedal gives a great amount of control with the ballistics knob. You can have the sound of a motor (grascutter, chainsaw) that's getting on. Or the start of the movie (Dolby commercial). Real slow and controlled built up or down of the effect. Even with a whammy pedal you can't get this even and controlled sound building. That's where the Ricochet makes the difference for me and what I'm interested in as an effect.

Same as the Whammy V

If you owned a Whammy V, this is exactly the same. It just has the extra feature of ballistics, where you adjust the speed of the tone change. I wish you could control the direction of the effect with an extra footswitch and not on a hand switch.
The tracking is very good. Not perfect but better than the boss OC-5, which is considered to be a top octaver. One star less because of the absence of a volume control, which is so essential.

Replaced the full size whammy on my board for this unit just to save space.
Does an excellent job as a replacement.
Con: As it is a small compact unit, sometimes my foot hits the preset knob and changes the preset.
