The coating is imperceptible to the touch, with a play-feel that is incredibly smooth and a sound typical for strings with an 80/20 bronze wrap – both bright and balanced. The core's hexagonal shape (which is another D'Addario innovation) results in perfect contact between core and wrap wire, which is an alloy of 80% copper and 20% zinc, resulting in a bright sound with a deep, warm bass response.
