MG
Natural and detailed microphones
Mirco G 07.06.2026
I bought the Austrian Audio OC818 Dual Set Go for live acoustic recording, mainly voice and acoustic guitar.

The first impression is excellent. The microphones feel very well built and professional. The sound is clear, detailed and natural, without feeling harsh. They capture the body of the instrument and the room very well, which is exactly what I needed for an intimate, live recording setup.

The dual set is very useful for stereo recording. It gives a realistic image and works well when placement is carefully adjusted. The different polar patterns also make the microphones very flexible.

What I like most is the balance between detail and musicality. They sound modern and precise, but still natural.

The only thing to consider is that they are sensitive microphones, so room placement and mic positioning are important. They are not a “quick fix” if the room does not sound good.

Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. A serious, high-quality stereo set, especially for acoustic instruments, vocals and live-style recording.
