I ordered this cable at the same time as my AKG701 headphones as a back-up. The cable is well made and ready to fit, though the headphones have to be partially dismantled to do this. However, a quick internet search is all it takes to find out that it is quite easy to do.
As you would expect from AKG, the cable is of good quality made and is, of course, an exact replacement for the factory fitted one so I know that there will be no degradation of sound after fitting.
The price represents excellent value for money as purchasing one in the UK would have been very expensive.

Gutes und preiswertes Ersatzteil

Nach Jahren treuen Dienstes erlitt mein K-701 einen Kabelbruch und dieses Ersatzkabel ist perfekt. Gleiche Farbe/Länge/Qualität wie das Originalkabel. Und für ein Ersatzteil auch noch überraschend preiswert.
Der Austausch ist etwas knifflig, insbesondere das Öffnen des Kopfhörers, aber dafür kann das Kabel nichts. Im Netz (Suche nach "K-701 service manual") findet man ein hilfreiches Dokument mit Explosionszeichnung und Reparaturhinweisen. Mit diesen Infos habe ich aus einer Holzleiste und zwei kleinen Nägeln ein "Spezialwerkzeug" improvisiert. Damit läßt sich das äußere Gitter aufdrehen ohne den Kopfhörer zu beschädigen. MacGyver läßt grüßen. Dann fehlt nur noch etwas Geschick mit dem Lötkolben und der K-701 ist fast wieder wie neu.

Mein nächster Kopfhörer hat aber wahrscheinlich ein abnehmbares Kabel. ;)

J'ai pris ce câble en même temps que le K701 car celui-ci n'a pas un câble détachable contrairement au K702, au cas ou j'ai besoin de le changer un jour.
Il semble bien identique à l'original.

Minulla kuten monilla muillakin alkoi K-701:n kaapeli oireilemaan, n. 4 vuoden käytön jälkeen. Olin myös kolvaillut vanhaa kaapelia useasti aiemmin liittimistä, mutta tällä kertaa häiriötekijä oli kaapelin sisällä kohdassa, missä se tulee ulos kuulokkeista. Ei siinä sen kummempaa, uusi kaapeli tilaukseen ja vanhan tilalle pienen kolvauksen jälkeen.

Kaapeli on samanlainen kuin alkuperäinen. Sinällään ihan laadukas, mutta kuulokekäytössä altis vedolle ja fyysiselle rasitukselle mikä aiheuttaa ongelmia, etenkin tuosta liitoskohdasta. Myöhemmissä AKG:n malleissa tämä onkin ratkaistu irrotettavalla kuulokejohdolla.

Tuotteesta itsessään ei ole sanottavana pahaa sanaa, toimii niin kuin voisi olettaa. Koitan olla varovaisempi tämän kanssa kuin ensimmäisen kaapelin, jos tämä vaikka kestäisi pidempään.
